Possess Stolen Property, Weapons Possession

On Friday evening around 7 p.m., a 20 year old female and 21 year old male who are  both residents of Brandon, were arrested in possession of a vehicle reported stolen earlier in the week, after the vehicle was stopped in the east end of Brandon. Also found in the suspect’s possession was a loaded sawed-off .22 caliber rifle and ammunition. Both suspects are charged with possession of property obtained by crime and firearms offences. They were lodged at BCC to be remanded today.

Home Invasion Robbery

On Friday morning at 9:18 a.m., two unknown persons entered a residence in the central area of Brandon. The suspects who were carrying an edged and striking weapon threatened the home occupants and stole personal possessions from the victims. The suspects dressed in black are believed to be male and female, and had their faces concealed. The occupants of the home were not injured in any way during this incident. No further information will be released at this point on this matter which is still under investigation.  

Other Arrests

Two people were arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and for Breach of the Peace, and an additional four people were arrested and processed on outstanding BPS arrest warrants.
