19 APRIL 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS:

 

 

RCMP Arrest Warrant Executed (Uttering Threats):

On April 18, 2019, at 9:26am a 17 year old Brandon male attended to BPS to turn himself in on a warrant from Hamiota RCMP for uttering threats. He was released for court on May 28, 2019, in Minnedosa.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed (Break & Enter, Possession of Property obtained by Crime, Forgery, Fraud, and Fail to Attend Court):

On April 18, 2019, at 1:20pm a 57 year old Brandon woman was observed by police conducting a check-stop in the 1800 block of Middleton Ave. She was known to have an outstanding warrant for the above offences. She was arrested and lodged at BCC for court on April 19, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed, Public Mischief:

On April 18, 2019, at 2:30pm police arrested a 16 year old Brandon female in the 500’ block of Louise Ave who had an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with an undertaking. She was lodged at BCC for court on April 19, 2019. Police also located a 31 year old male who provided a false name in an attempt to avoid arrest on a warrant. His true identity was discovered by police and he was arrested for public mischief as well as the warrants for aggravated assault and break & enter. He was lodged at BCC for court on April 19, 2019.

 

Breach of Recognizance x2, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft of Mail:

On April 18, 2019, at 4:26pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 600’ block of 10th Street. While stopped by police the driver, a 30 year old female, made a phone call to a person she was not to have communication with. She was arrested for breaching her recognizance and removed from the vehicle. A search of her person incidental to arrest revealed drug paraphernalia that contained what was believed to be meth residue. Police also found in the vehicle an envelope with stolen mail, credit cards, and debit cards. She was lodged at BCC for court on April 19, 2019. Police continue to investigate the stolen credit and debit cards and more charges may be pending.

 

Theft under $5000 (shoplifting):

On March 5, 2019, police received a shoplifting complaint from a business in the 100’ block of Victoria Ave East. On April 18, 2019, police located a 26 year old Brandon woman who was responsible for the theft. She was arrested and released for court on June 20, 2019.

 

Intoxicated Person Detention Act:

On April 18, 2019, at 6:49pm police responded to a complaint of a man sleeping in the 1800’ block of Brandon Ave. A 42 year old Brandon man was located by police and found to be intoxicated. He was lodged at BCC to be released when sober.

 

Disorderly in or around a Licensed Premise:

On April 18, 2019, at 9:29pm police responded to a disturbance in the 100’ block of 5th Street. Police located a 31 year old Brandon woman who had been fighting with another woman. She was uncooperative and combative with officers at the scene. She was lodged at BCC to be released on a ticket in the morning.

 

Theft under $5000 (shoplifting):

On April 17, 2019, police received a complaint of a theft from a business in the 900’ block of Victoria Ave. On April 18, 2019, police located the 32 year old Brandon woman who was responsible for the theft. She was arrested and released for court on June 13, 2019.

 

Mischief to Property under $5000:

On April 17, 2019, at 5:07pm police received a complaint of damage to a vehicle in the 900’ block of College Ave. The suspect, a 12 year old girl, was known to the vehicle owner. On April 18, 2019, the girl was arrested and released for court on May 21, 2019.

 

Intoxicated Person Detention Act:

On April 18, 2019, at 11:58pm police responded to a complaint of a man sleeping in the doorway of a business in the 600’ block of 18th Street. Police located a 55 year old Sioux Valley man who was intoxicated. He was lodged at BCC to be released when sober.

 

Stolen Vehicle (Chevrolet Impala) and Stolen License Plates:

On April 18, 2019, at 8:45pm police received a complaint of a theft of vehicle from a business in the 1000’ block of 18th Street. The vehicle is described as a 2012 silver Chevrolet Impala with Manitoba license plate KBN 850.

Police later received a complaint from an owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Impala in the East end that the license plates from his vehicle had been stolen. Those plates were HBS 442. It is believed these incidents may be connected.

 

Breach of Peace:

On April 19, 2019, at 1:23am police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1100’ block of 19th Street. A 26 year old man who was intoxicated and refusing to leave was arrested and lodged at BCC to be released when sober.

 

Breach of Peace:

On April 19, 2019, at 2:27am police were called to the 3100’ block of Victoria Ave for a disturbance. A 19 year old Brandon man was intoxicated and arrested. He was lodged at BCC to be released when sober.
