16 APRIL 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS:

Break & Enter (Business):

On April 15, 2019, at 7:48am police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 200’ block of 10th Street. A cash register was stolen along with some change. Police continue to investigate.

Sexual Assault:

On April 15, 2019, after an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault on an adult female by a 33 year old Brandon male on March 30, 2019, the male was charged for sexual assault. He will appear in court on June 10, 2019.

Break & Enter (Garage):

On April 15, 2019, at 9:15am police received a report of a break and enter to a garage on Dogwood Blvd. It is believed to have occurred between 1:00am and 5:30am. The garage and vehicle appear to have been rummaged through, but nothing appears to have been taken. Police continue to investigate.

Arrest Warrant Executed (Breach of Probation :

On April 15, 2019, at 12:14pm a 27 year old female from Sioux Valley turned herself into police as she knew there was a warrant for the above offences. She was lodged at BCC for court in the morning.

Theft of Credit Card, Fraud use of Credit Card:

Between March 30 2019 and April 3rd 2019 a 24 year old Brandon Male had stolen a credit card belonging to family members and made over $300.00 worth of unauthorized purchases. The male turned himself into police on 15 April 2019 and was released for court on June 10 2019.

Make/Possession of Child Pornography

On April 15 2019 a 20 year old Brandon man was charged after uploading several photos and video of his girlfriend who was under 18 years old without her consent. He will appear in court on June 10 2019.

Assault:

On 15 April 2019, at 1045pm police responded to a residence in the 3500 Block of Willowdale Cresent. A 60 year old Brandon female had assaulted her adult daughter by pulling her hair. She will appear in court on June 17, 2019.

 

Assault (Domestic):

On 15 April 2019, at 5:14pm police responded to a report that a female had been punched in the upper body several times by her 23 year old boyfriend. The female declined medical attention. The male was apprehended a short time later and will be released in the morning for court on May 19 2019.

Intoxicated Person Detention Act/Breach of the Peace:

Over the last 24 hrs, three persons were lodged at BCC for being intoxicated and one person was lodged for breach of the peace. All will be released in the morning with no charges.

Public information:

 Brandon Police will be conducting training in the area of Baker Bay between 9:00am and 2:00pm today. Please use extra caution while in the area.
