Break, Enter and Theft

At approx. 8:30 AM Police received a call reporting a break and enter to an apartment in the 100 block of Princess Ave.  The caller indicated that someone had entered the apartment overnight while the tenants were away and stole two large screen LG televisions.  The matter is still under investigation.

Fraud under $5000

On January 12, 2019, a 30-year-old Brandon female electronically deposited a stolen employment insurance cheque into her account.  Yesterday she was located by the investigating officer, and arrested for the offence.  She was released on a Promise to Appear in Court on June 19th.

Theft / Robbery

Between February 15 and March 16, 2019 Police received several calls of a male stealing liquor from the MLCC located in the 3400 block of Victoria Ave.  On one of these occasions, staff members in the store confronted the suspect in an attempt to stop the thief.  The suspect raised one of the stolen bottles in a threatening manner displaying an intent and willingness to use it as a weapon against the employees.  The suspect has now been identified from in store video and on Saturday the 15 year old male from Winnipeg was charged for the thefts as well as robbery.  He will appear in court on May 14th in Brandon.

Breach of Undertaking   

At approx. 8:50 PM Saturday evening, officers attended to a business on Middleton Ave for a male who had passed out in the restaurant.  Officer identified the intoxicated male, who was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition that he not consume alcohol.  The 36-year-old male from Split Lake Manitoba will appear in court this morning.     


Other Arrests

  • Two females and one male were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
  • Two males were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for Breach of the Peace.
