05 APRIL 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS:

 

 

Break, Enter & Theft, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Theft Under $5000, Care and Control while Impaired by Drug:

On April 4, 2019, at 7:09am police responded to a Break & Enter of a residence in the 500’ block of Louise Ave. Suspects had entered an unlocked door and stole numerous items including keys to the homeowner’s vehicle. At 07:28am the vehicle was located running on the lawn of an apartment building in the 700’ block of 9th Street with a 31 year old male and a 36 year old male asleep inside. Also inside the vehicle was property from the Break & Enter. Both men were intoxicated. The 31 year old was arrested for Break, Enter & Theft, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Theft Under $5000, as well as Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by Drug. He was lodged at BCC to be released once sober for court on April 11, 2019. The 36 year old man was arrested for Break, Enter & Theft, and Theft under $5000. He was also lodged at BCC to be released once sober for court on May 30, 2019.

 

Petty Trespass Act:

On April 4, 2019, at 1:46pm police responded to a trespassing complaint from a business in the 800’ block of Rosser Ave. A 56 year old man who had previously been banned from the business was located intoxicated and causing a disturbance. He was arrested and lodged at BCC to be released when sober.

 

Prohibited Driving:

On April 4, 2019, at 1:54pm police conducted a traffic stop in the 600’ block of Kirkcaldy Drive. The driver, a 21 year old Brandon man, was found to be Prohibited and Suspended from driving. He was arrested and released for court on June 10, 2019.

 

Robbery:

On April 4, 2019, at 1:50pm police received a report from a male indicating one hour prior he was robbed while parked at a business in the 100’ block of Victoria Ave East. The male was threatened with a knife and gave the suspects a quantity of cash. Both suspects are described as aboriginal in appearance. One suspect had homemade tattoos on his left arm. The second suspect is described as having a moustache, wearing a grey jacket with black stripes. Police continue to investigate.

 

Domestic Assault:

On April 4, 2019, at 7:48pm police received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 3500’ block of Willowdale Cres. A 45 year old Brandon man was arrested for domestic assault. He was lodged at BCC due to his level of intoxication and will be released for court on May 6, 2019.

 

Breach of Probation:

On April 4, 2019, at 9:54pm police were called to a business in the 900’ block of Victoria Ave for a 27 year old Brandon man that appeared to be attempting to shoplift. The man was already on a Probation order not to attend that business. He was arrested and released for court on May 2, 2019.

 

Intoxicated Person Detention Act:

On April 4, 2019, at 10:09pm police were called to a business in the 3300’ block of Victoria Ave as an intoxicated male had passed out inside. A 27 year old man from Austin was arrested under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act and lodged at BCC to be released when sober.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

On April 4, 2019, at 8:17pm police located a 17 year old Brandon male in the 2200’ block of Victoria Ave who had an outstanding Supervision Suspension Warrant. He was lodged at BCC for court on April 5, 2019.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime:

On April 4, 2019, at 11:45pm police conducted a pedestrian check on a 41 year old Brandon woman in the 1200’ block of Rosser Ave. She was found in possession of several pieces of stolen mail. She was arrested and released for court on June 3, 2019.
