02 APRIL 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS:

 

 

Breach of Protection Order:

On March 31, 2019, a 46 year old Brandon man attended to a business on Knowlton Drive. Present there was a person he is not to have contact with. As he did not leave, he was in breach of a court order. On April 1, 2019, the man attended to BPS to deal with the incident. He was arrested and released for court on May 27, 2019.

 

Break & Enter (Shed):

On April 1, 2019, at 8:03am, police responded to a complaint of a Break & Enter to a shed located in the 100’ block of Princess Ave E. According to the homeowner the Break & Enter occurred sometime between March 18, 2019, and April 1, 2019. Stolen were two chainsaws and a mitre saw. Police continue to investigate.

 

Break & Enter (Residence):

On April 1, 2019, at 8:16am, police responded to a report of a Break & Enter to a residence in the 400’ block of 2nd Street. According to the homeowner a strange noise was heard at approximately 4:00am. In the morning the homeowner noticed several items missing. The suspect had stolen a pair of shoes and left an old pair at the scene. Police continue to investigate.

 

Break & Enter (Business):

On April 1, 2019, at 8:24am, police responded to a business in the 1900’ block of Park Ave for a complaint of a Break & Enter. It is believed this occurred sometime over the weekend. At this time it is unknown what was taken. Police continue to investigate.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed (Breach of Probation, Fail to Appear):

On April 1, 2019, at 3:18pm, a 25 year old Brandon man attended to BPS to turn himself in on a warrant for Breach of Probation and Failing to Appear. He was lodged at BCC for court on April 2, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed (Breach of Probation, Fail to Appear):

On April 1, 2019, at 4:29pm, a 19 year old female from Cypress River attended to BPS to turn herself in on a warrant for Breach of Probation and Failing to Attend. She was released for court on April 29, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed (Fail to comply with Recognizance):

On April 1, 2019, at 4:56pm, police located a 40 year old Brandon man in the 1200’ block of Rosser Ave who was wanted on the strength of a Manitoba First Nations Police Service warrant for failing to comply with recognizance. The man was lodged at BCC for court on April 2, 2019.

 

Breach of Undertaking:

On April 1, 2019, at 10:00pm police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1000’ block of 9th Street. Once there police located a 19 year old Sioux Valley man who was breaching an undertaking by having contact with another person in the residence. He was arrested and lodged at BCC to be released once sober on a promise to appear for court on May 30th, 2019.

 

Firearms Search Warrant Executed:

On April 1, 2019, police obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 700’ block of 7th Street. Due to the nature of the incident the police services emergency response team was deployed to execute the warrant. Located inside the residence was an SKS style rifle. A 29 year old Brandon man was arrested for unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, possession contrary to a prohibition order x3. He was lodged for court on April 2, 2019. A 29 year old man from Rapid City was also charged for possession of a prohibited weapon as he was in possession of brass knuckles. He was also lodged at BCC for court on April 2, 2019.

Domestic Assault:

On April 1, 2019, police attended to a disturbance at a residence in the 2100’ block of Tracey Street. A 19 year old Brandon woman and a 20 year old Brandon man were arrested and charged for domestic assault on each other. No medical attention was required. Both were released for court on May 2, 2019.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed (Breach of Probation):

On April 2, 2019, at 2:25am police conducted a pedestrian check in the 300’ block of 8th Street. A 28 year old Brandon woman was arrested on a warrant from Minnedosa RCMP for Breach of Probation. She was released for court on May 6, 2019. A 27 year old Brandon man was also arrested on a warrant from Minnedosa RCMP for Breach of Probation. He was released for court on May 1, 2019.
