1 APRIL MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS

 

Lodged

   At 1028 hours, 31 March 2019, a male was observed by Police in the 200 block of 5th Street. An unendorsed warrant for Breach of Recognizance existed. He was arrested and lodged for court.

 

Charged

 At 1055 hours, 31 March 2019, BPS members located a male in the 600 blk of Victoria Ave East, who was wanted on an endorsed warrant for Fail to Appear for prints. He was arrested and released for court.

 

Lodged- Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

 At 1348 hours, 31 March 2019, BPS members located a male in the 1400 Blk of Rosser Ave, who was highly intoxicated and was causing problems in the hallways an apartment building. The accused was lodged at the Brandon Correction Center for release when sober.

 At 1510 hours, 31 March 2019, a caller reported two males on foot being chased by a red GMC SUV in the 2100 block of Princess Avenue. The vehicle was located and stopped at 25th and Rosser. The male driver showed signs of impairment and refused to provide breath samples. The male had numerous Warrants from Winnipeg Police Service and Dauphin RCMP. It was learned that the vehicle involved, was also reported stolen from Rolling River. The Male driver was charged with Impaired Driving, Refusal, and Obstruct Police, the circumstances regarding the males being chased is still under investigation by police.

 

Lodged – Breach of the Peace

 At approx. 1955 hrs, 31 March 2019, a male was located by Police in the 2200 blk of Princess Ave, highly intoxicated and unruly, due to intoxication he was lodged until sober.

  

Lodged – Breach of the Peace

 At 0220 hrs, 1st April 2019, police attended the 400 blk of Russell St, a female was located and was highly intoxicated and uncooperative and was therefore lodged until sober.

 

Warrant Requested

 On March 22, 2019 an employee of Brandon business called police to report that someone stole her wallet and cell phone from her locker at work. The female suspect has been recorded on surveillance video in several different locations using the complainant’s debit and credit cards. A Warrant has been requested.

 

BPS Warrant Executed

At approx. 0405 hrs, 1st April 2019, BPS members conducted a pedestrian check on a female in the 200 block of 10th St. It was found she had an outstanding unendorsed warrant for Breach of Probation and Fail to attend Court. She was arrested and lodged to appear in Court in the morning.

 

Public Notice

Just a reminder that April is Distracted Driving Month, and police will be conducting extra patrols to be on the lookout for Distracted Drivers.
