15 MARCH 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS

 

Warrant Executed

 On March 14th, 2019 at 7:25 am a 21 year old Brandon man attended to BPS after he became aware of an outstanding warrant. The man was wanted for Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon, Unsafe Storage of a Weapon as well as Reckless Discharge of a Weapon. The man was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on May 6th, 2019.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On March 14th, 2019 at 8:47 am police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle from the 1700 blk of 34th Street. The truck is described as a 2019 White Dodge Ram Extended cab with a Manitoba License Plate # HJS 283

 

Breach of Peace

On March 14th, 2019 at 8:38 am police responded to a complaint at a business in the 1100 blk of 18th Street. A 31 year old Winnipeg man was located at the business and was found to be intoxicated. The man was lodged at BCC until sober.

 

Warrant Executed

On March 14th, 2019 Brandon Police arrested a 32 year old man on the strength of a Thompson RCMP warrant for Possess Cocaine. The man will appear in Brandon Court on March 15th, 2019

 

Warrant Executed

On March 14th, 2019 at 4:11 pm a 39 year old Brandon man turned himself to police after he became aware there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Fail to Attend Court. The man was released on at PTA to attend court on May 6th, 2019.

 

Breach of Recognizance x 3 / Mischief Under $ 5000.00

On March 14th, 2019 at 8:38 am police responded to an unrelated complaint in the 700 blk of Braecrest Drive. Police later located the subject of the complaint and found that the 25 year old Brandon man was in breach of 3 Recognizance Orders. The man was lodged at BCC to appear in Brandon Court on March 15th, 2019.

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act

On March 14th, 2019 at 8:40 am police responded to a complaint in the 400 blk of 9th Street of a man who was intoxicated and refusing to leave the premises. The 56 year old man of no fixed address was lodged at BCC until sober.

 

Forgery

On March 14th, 2019 police located two individuals from an investigation dating back to October 7th, 2018. A 21 woman as well as a 28 year old woman both from Brandon were jointly charged in an incident in which they forged a signature of the rightful owner of a cheque to obtain an undisclosed amount of money. Both woman were released on PTA to appear in Brandon Court on May 13th, 2019.

 

Fraudulently Obtain Transportation

On March 14th, 2019 at 7:10 pm police received a complaint from a local taxi company indicating that they had 3 intoxicated people, two woman and a man all from Brandon in cab were refusing to pay for their fare. Due to their intoxicated state all three were lodged at BCC and will be issued PTA’s to appear in Brandon Court on May 16th, 2019.

 

Robbery with Violence / Possession of Restricted Weapon

 On March 14th, 2019 at 8:47 pm police responded to a complaint in the 1200 blk of 7th Street in which a 15 year old boy had returned home and indicated to his mother that he had his cell phone stolen and had been bear sprayed a few minutes prior to the complaint. Police later located another 15 year old youth from Brandon who was responsible for the incident who was lodged at BCC and will appear in Brandon Court on March 15th, 2019

 

Breach of Probation x 3 / Resist Arrest / Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

 On March 15th, 2019 at 4:37 am police responded to a complaint of a 23 year old Brandon man showing up intoxicated and causing trouble at a residence in the 300 blk of 11th Street. During the course of removing the man, an altercation ensued and the man grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened other people in the residence. The man was taken into custody without further incident. The man was also found to be on a number of Probation Orders not to attend this residence and have no contact with an individual inside that residence. As a result he was lodged at BCC and will appear in Brandon Court on March 15th, 2019.
