05 MARCH 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS

 

 Warrant Executed

On March 4th, 2019 Brandon Police received a call from Flin Flon RCMP to assist in the execution of one of their warrants on a Brandon resident for Break and Enter and Mischief to Property under $ 5000.00. The 20 year old Brandon man was located and arrested and subsequently lodged at BCC and will appear in court on March 5th, 2019.

 

Break and Enter Residence

On March 4th, 2019 at 8:13 AM police received a complaint of a Break and Enter to a residence in the 3705 Willowdale Crescent. Reported stolen was a Play Station and a few other items as well the keys to his vehicle which was stolen from the residence. The vehicle was later located and was recovered abandoned a short distance away with the assistance of ONSTAR.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 4th, 2019 at 10:29 AM police received a panic alarm to residence in the 1000 blk of Assiniboine Avenue. A resident of the house was causing trouble and as a result was removed and lodged at BCC to prevent a further breach of the peace.

 

Warrant Executed

On March 4th, 2019 at 1:46 PM police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 blk of 9th Street. The driver who is a 33 year old Brandon man was arrested on the strength of a warrant for Breach of Probation was subsequently released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 4th, 2019.

 

Breach of Recognizance

On March 4th, 2019 at police arrested a 21 year old Brandon man for failing to report to BPS as was the condition of his Court ordered Recognizance. The man was arrested and subsequently released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 1st, 2019. 

 

Child Abandonment

On February 26th, 2019 BPS members charged a 33 year old Brandon man after an ongoing investigation into a child abandonment complaint. The man had been asked by the children’s mother to babysit her 2 children for a short period of time but when the mother returned, the man had apparently left the residence leaving the children alone. As a result of this incident, the man was charged with Child Abandonment and will appear in Brandon Court on April 15th, 2019. On March 4th, 2019. The mother of the children a 37 year old Brandon woman was also charged for Child Abandonment stemming from the same incident. The woman was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 15th, 2019.

 

Breach of Peace

On March 4th, 2019 at 3:20 PM police encountered a highly intoxicated 29 year old woman from the Shilo area who was causing a disturbance. The woman was lodged at BCC and was released when sober.

 

Warrant Executed

On March 4th, 2019 police located a 31 year old Brandon man in a residence in the 700 blk of 7th Street. The man was arrested on the strength of a BPS for a Breach of his Probation and will appear in Brandon Court on April 1st, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed

On March 4th, 2019 Brandon Police received a call from St Rose RCMP that they had located a 27 year old man who now resides in the St Rose area and arrested him on the strength of a BPS warrant for Breach of Recognizance x2. The man was lodged at Dauphin Correctional Centre and will appear in Dauphin Court on March 5th, 2019.

 

Intoxicated Person Detention Act

On March 5th, 2019 at police located a 28 year old woman from Brandon who was highly intoxicated and unable to look after herself. Due to the extreme temperatures the woman was lodged at BCC to be released when sober. 

 

Fraud Use of Credit Card / Possess Property Obtained by Crime

On March 4th, 2019 police located a 19 year old Brandon man after an ongoing investigation in which he used a stolen credit card in a number of business around Brandon to make purchases and obtain food and merchandise. The man was located and subsequently charged but due his level of intoxication at the time of arrest was lodged at BCC and will be released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 19th, 2019.

 

As for the Special Media Release from March 4th, 2019 regarding the Missing Person Rodney DUBNICK, he was located safe and sound and we thank the public for their assistance in this matter.
