Warrant Executed / Other Charges

On February 7th, 2019, at 8:301 am, police were called to a residence in the 400 blk of 10th Street from a home owner that there was damage to her door that looked like gun shots from the day before. Police entered the residence and located a 33 year old man from Yorkton Saskatchewan who was in possession of a number of knives, 2 X CO2 pellet guns and several pieces of stolen identification as well as what appeared to be a homemade explosive device. The device was dismantled and made safe by police without incident. The male was subsequently charged with Prohibited Firearm, Breach of Probation, Possession of Explosive for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of Weapon as well as Possession of Stolen Property. This male was lodged at BCC for Brandon Court on February 8th, 2019

Also located in the residence was a 49 year old woman from Brandon. This woman was charged jointly with the a/n male for Possess of Explosive for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of Weapon as well as Possession of Stolen Property and was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 11th, 2019. The investigation is continuing.

 

Breach of Peace

 On February 7th, 2019, at 1:36 pm, police were called to a residence in the 800 blk of 7th Street to remove and unwanted intoxicated 26 year old woman who was causing problems in the residence. The woman was lodged at BCC until sober.

 

Break and Enter Residence

On February 7th, 2019 at 11:52 am, Police received a complaint of a B & E to a residence in the 000 hundred blk of Queens Crescent. Investigation revealed that entry had been gained into the residence when the rear door frame was pried open. Stolen was a Browning .243 cal. lever action rifle as well as a Dell laptop computer

 

Warrant Executed

 On February 7th, 2019, Brandon Police received a call from Winnipeg RCMP indicating that they had arrested a 22 year old woman who is now a Winnipeg resident on the strength of a Brandon warrant for Theft Under $ 5000.00 X 2. The woman was held in custody overnight and will appear in Winnipeg Court on February 8th, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed

On February 7th, 2019, Brandon Police received a call from Winnipeg Police indicating that they had arrested a 36 year old man who is now a Winnipeg resident on the strength of a Brandon warrant for Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference, Sexual Exploitation X 2, and Invitation to Sexual Touching as well as Corrupting Morals. The man was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on March 7th, 2019. The man had turned himself in to Winnipeg Police when became aware of the warrant.

 

Breach of Conditional Sentence Order

On February 7th, 2019, at 10:36 pm, police were called to a residence in the 400 blk 13th Street for a 911 hang-up call. At the residence police located a visibly intoxicated 42 year old Brandon woman who was found to be at large on a Conditional Sentence Order with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The woman was arrested and lodged at BCC for Brandon court on February 8th, 2019.

 

Warrant Executed

On February 7th, 2019, at 10:36 pm, police were called to a residence in the 400 blk of 12th Street. Upon arrival to the residence police located a 26 year old Brandon woman for Fail to Attend Court. The woman was released on a PTA to attend Brandon Court on March 19th, 2019.

 

Damage to Property

 On November 30th, 2018 police were called to the Brandon Correctional Centre as a result of a complaint that 2 inmates at the time had damaged a number of items while in custody at that location on February 7th, 2019, at the conclusion of the investigation, two male inmates one 24 years old and the other 27 years old were jointly charged with Mischief to Property under $5000.00. Both will appear in Brandon Court on February 8th,2019.

  

Police Pursuit / Possess Property Obtained by Crime / Possess Meth

On February 7th, 2019 at 8:23 pm police observed a motor vehicle in the 500 blk of Rosser Avenue East. As it turned out the car was stolen from Winnipeg. Police attempted to stop the car but it sped off and a pursuit began. Police called off the pursuit a short time later giving consideration to the street conditions. A few minutes later the car was observed in the 2200 blk of Rosser Avenue after the vehicle became involved in a collision with a parked vehicle. The driver fled the scene but a 40 year old female passenger from Winnipeg was still in the vehicle upon police arrival and was arrested without incident. The accused was held in custody and will appear in Brandon Court on February 8th, 2019. Police are still looking for the driver of the vehicle and charges are pending.

 

Warrant Executed

On February 8th, 2019, at 12:30 hrs Brandon Police were called to attend the Safe and Warm Shelter after they learned that a 39 year old woman who was causing trouble had an warrant for her arrest for Fail to Attend for Fingerprints. The woman was lodged at BCC to ensure her attendance in Court.

 

Theft Under $ 5000.00

 On February 7th, 2019 at 19:16 pm, Police received a complaint from a business in the 900 blk of Victoria Avenue that a 28 year old woman from Griswold was arrested for theft of items from the store. The woman was released on a PTA to appear in Brandon Court on April 4th, 2019
