Theft Over, Breach of Recognizance and Probation, Public Mischief and Warrant of Arrest:

On Sunday morning at approximately 07:55am, Police received a report of a vehicle stolen from the 700 block of 17th Street. The vehicle is described as a 2017 GMC Denali. The complainant gave a description of the suspect to police. The vehicle’s On Star was activated and the vehicle was reported just east of Brandon. Police attended to the area and located the vehicle stuck in a snow bank. Police stopped a vehicle leaving the area and the passenger was identified as the suspect and admitted to theft. The suspect lied about his identity and once Police confirmed his true identity it was learned he had a Winnipeg Police Service Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation and was on a Court Order not to occupy the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. A 25yr old Winnipeg man was arrested for Theft Over, Breach of Recognizance, Breach of Probation and Public Mischief. The male was lodged at BCC for Court on February 04th.

Domestic Assault x2:

Ongoing investigations resulted in the arrest of a male who assaulted his common –law in March and July of 2018. On Sunday Police located, arrested and released a 28yr old Brandon man to appear in Court on February 27th.

Theft of Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Driving, Assault Police with a Weapon, Carry concealed weapon and Drive while Prohibited:

On Sunday morning at approximately 10:50am, Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. The vehicle is described as a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The vehicle was located by Police in the 100 block laneway between 15th and 16th Street. The vehicle tried to flee the scene, backed up into a Police vehicle and then forward into another Police vehicle. The driver refused to exit the vehicle and Police removed the driver and placed him under arrested. Police found in the driver’s possession a concealed weapon. A 32yr old man was arrested for Theft of Motor Vehicle, Dangerous Driving, Assault with a Weapon, Carry concwaled Weapon and Drive while Prohibited. The male was lodged at BCC for Court on February 04th.

Fraud Under:

Ongoing investigation from January 22nd 2019, resulted in the arrest of woman who used her bank account for a third party to cash a stolen check. The woman then received funds from the deposit as payment for the use of the account. On Sunday evening, a 25yr old Brandon woman was arrested and released to appear in Court on March 25th.

Assault:

On Sunday evening at approximately7:45pm, Police attended to a residence on Cornwallis Bay for an assault complaint. Upon arrival, Police learned that a male youth assaulted another male by biting him several times on the chest. A 15yr old Brandon male youth was arrested and released to appear in Court on March 05th.

Mischief under $5000:

On Monday morning at approximately 00:30am, a male youth caused damaged to the rear window of a vehicle parked on Madison Crescent. Police attended to the area and located the male youth. Police arrested a 15yr old Sioux Valley FN male for Mischief under $5000. The male was released to appear in Court on March 05th.

Other Arrests:

Four people were arrested for Intoxicated Person Detention Act and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober.

Three people were arrested Breach of Peace and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober.
