03 JANUARY 2019 MEDIA RELEASE FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS

 

Possession of Meth - CDSA

On January 2nd, at 9:58 am, police located a 54 yr old man who is a Minnedosa resident sleeping in his vehicle. As a result of that investigation, police charged with CDSA – Possession of Meth and was released on a Promise to Appear in Court on March 14th, 2019.

 

Endorsed Warrant – Fail to Appear in Court/ Carry and Concealed Weapon

On January 2nd, at 1137 am, police attended to a residence in the 400 blk of Frederick Street on an unrelated matter. When dealing with a 17 yr old male at that location police discovered that he had an endorsed warrant as indicated above. The male was subsequently released on a PTA for Court on January 22nd, 2019.

 

Endorsed Warrant – Contempt of Court – Fail to Attend as Witness

 On January 2nd, at 1015 am, Winnipeg Police had been dealing with a 40 yr old Winnipeg resident in the City of Winnipeg on an unrelated matter. WPS members discovered that this male had an endorsed warrant out of Brandon. The male was subsequently lodged at their point for Court on January 3rd , 2019.

 

Endorsed Warrant – Fail to Attend Court

 On January 2nd, 2019, at 3:39 pm, a 56 year old Brandon man was arrested on the strength of the a/n warrant after he turned himself in at the Brandon Police Station. The male was subsequently released on a PTA for Court on January 31st, 2019

 

 Domestic Assault / Breach of Probation

 On January 2nd, 2019 at 615pm, Police attended to a residence in the 000 hundred blk of 10th Street regarding a complaint of a Domestic Assault. As a result of this complaint, a 59 year old Brandon man was arrested at the scene. Police further discovered that that male was also at large on a Probation Order with conditions that he not attend this residence and also to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. As the male was in breach of both of those conditions, he was also charged accordingly.

 

 Warrant Executed

 On January 2nd, at 1010 pm, police attended to a residence in the 1100 blk of Rosser Avenue looking for a 25 year old female resident. The woman was located at her home and was arrested on the strength of this warrant for Breach of Probation, Fail to Attend Court as well as Fail to Attend for Identification. The woman was held in custody to attend Court on January 3rd, 2019.

 

Custody - Breach of Peace

 On January 2nd, 2019 police attended to a complaint of an intoxicated 46 year old Brandon man causing problems at a residence in the 400 blk of 26th Street. The male was subsequently lodged at BCC overnight and was released in the AM when sober.

 

Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose X 2, Possess a Prohibited Weapon, as well as Carry Concealed Weapon

 On January 3rd, 2019 at 1:45 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 blk of 20th Street where the 19 year old Brandon man was a passenger in the vehicle. During the course of the investigation police discovered the male had in his possession a set of brass knuckles as well as a handgun which was later determined to be a BB gun. The male was arrested by police and subsequently released from custody on a PTA with Undertaking to appear in Brandon Court on 2019-03-04. 

 

Warrant Executed - Fail to Appear for Prints as well as Possess Controlled Substance 

On January 3rd, 2019 police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 blk of 20th Street. The 23 year old female driver of NO fixed address initially provided police with a false name however her ID was located in the car. The accused was found to have an outstanding warrant and as she had no fixed address, she was held in custody overnight and will appear in Court this morning.
