Just after 9:00 AM Sunday morning, a report of a stolen truck was received. The theft occurred overnight from the 2800 block McDonald Avenue, and involved a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. It was believed that the keys may have been left in the vehicle. Just after 11:00 AM, the owner advised that he was able to use a GPS app to track his vehicle to the 100 block 6th Street North. The vehicle was recovered from that area and brought back to BPS for identification examination.

Vehicle Stop Nets Arrest on Warrant:

At about 1:40 PM Sunday afternoon, Police conducted a traffic stop near 13th Street and Park Avenue. The 48 year old male driver was issued several HTA tickets in relation to no drivers license and no vehicle insurance.  A records check on the 31 year-old female passenger confirmed an unendorsed warrant in effect for her arrest for failing to attend court and failing to comply with a probation order. The female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

Breach of Recognizance Order Arrest Results in Additional Charges:

Police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block 14th Street at approximately 10:35 PM Sunday night. A 22 year-old female was located in the residence, in an intoxicated state, and contrary to the conditions of a recognizance order she is currently bound by. While being arrested, she assaulted a police officer by attempting to kick him several times, which resulted in the additional charges of assaulting a Peace Officer, and resisting arrest being laid. The accused was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

Two Males Arrested From Vehicle Stop:

The 48 year-old male driver from Newdale, MB was found to not possess a valid driver’s license, and was currently bound by a court order with a curfew, which he was not in compliance with. A 32 year-old male passenger was found to be the subject of a warrant for arrest for multiple offences. This male tried several times to identify himself as someone else. Once his true identity was established and the arrest warrant confirmed, he was also charged with public mischief. Both males were lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.
