Search Warrant Executed

At 2:40 am Saturday morning, members of the Brandon Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the downtown area.  A sawed off rifle with ammunition was seized.  There were five people, three females and two males, all from Brandon, arrested inside the residence.  All have been charged with a number of weapons offences including Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.  All of those arrested were lodged for court later Friday morning.

 

Possession of Stolen Property

At 3:45 pm Friday, a 33-year-old Brandon male was arrested and charged with Possess Property Obtained by Crime when he was found in possession of a stolen Laptop computer that was stolen from Direct Liquidation in September.  The male was released to appear in court in November.

 

Fraud

As a result of an ongoing investigation from May 2018, a 27-year-old Brandon female was arrested Friday.  It is alleged that the accused altered a cheque and cashed it for the new amount.  The female was released to appear in court in December.

 

Breach of Conditional Sentence / Resist Arrest

At 1:30 Friday afternoon, police received a 911 call from a downtown hotel that a female is in violation of her conditional sentence order by being in contact with a person also present at the hotel.  The suspect fled prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away.  The 25-year-old female resisted the officers who attempted to arrest her.  She was lodged at BCC and will appear in court Saturday morning.

 

Have Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

At 2:25, Friday afternoon a 29-year-old male was arrested after a complaint was made of an intoxicated driver parked in the waiting area at a restaurant on Richmond Avenue.  The driver provided samples of his breath at twice the legal limit and was lodged for release when sober.

 

Mischief to Property

At 11:40 pm, Friday evening, a female was located in the 1500 block of Louise Avenue that had been kicking at doors and damaging property in the area.  The 39-year-old Brandon female was arrested and lodged at BCC.  She will be released for court in December once sober.

 

Breach of Recognizance

At 2:57 am, police conducted a pedestrian stop with a male in the 300 block of 11th Street.  The 20-year-old Brandon male was found to be on a Recognizance with a curfew, which he was violating.  The male was lodged at BCC and will appear in court Saturday morning.

 

Disqualified Driver

At 1:30 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 1st Street and found the driver, a 25-year-old female from Hilton Manitoba, to be disqualified from driving.  She was arrested and released to appear in court in November.

 

Other Arrests

One person was arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and will be released when sober.  Two persons were arrested for Breach of the Peace and will be released when sober.
