Theft Under $5000:

An ongoing investigation of theft of four bottles of fragrances from a business in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue East on August 28th 2018, Police reviewed the store’s video surveillance and have identified a male responsible for the theft. On Wednesday Police located, arrested and released a 26yr old Brandon man for Court on October 11th.

Breach of Undertaking and Possession of Unauthorized Weapon x2:

On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 2:59pm, Police received a report from staff at a high school have confiscated a weapon from a student and requested Police to attend and deal with the weapons and student. Police identified the student and the two cans of bear mace were seized. Police arrested, released and lodged a 13yr old Brandon male youth to appear in Court on September 13th.

Unlawfully in a dwelling house and Breach of Recognizance:

On Wednesday evening at approximately 6:25pm, Police were informed by a resident in the 000 block of Garwood Drive that her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave the residence and wanted him removed. Police attended and located the male in the area of Garwood Drive. Police learned the male was breaching a condition of his Court order not to communicate with the complainant. A 35yr old Brandon man was arrested and lodged at BCC for Court on September 13th.

Robbery / Forcible Confinement x2:

An ongoing Police investigation of robbery and forcible confinement from August 12th and September 03rd, Police have arrested a 32yr old female and a 28yr old male for their involvement in the robberies and forcible confinement were the victims were tied up, threatened with firearm/weapons/knife and had their personal property stolen. Both the female and male will appear in Court on September 13th. These arrests are additional to the arrest of two females from September 4th and 5th. A fifth suspect was arrested in Regina, Sk and will be appearing in Brandon Court later this week.

Assault Police Officer / Assault causing bodily harm, Resist Arrest and Possession of a weapon for a Dangerous Purpose:

On Thursday morning at approximately 00:03am, Police received a 911 call from a resident in the 1200 block Lorne Avenue requesting Police to attend for an intoxicated male who made threats towards the caller. Police were advised by the caller that the male had left. At 00:18hrs, Police received a 911 call from the residence and Police attended. Police encountered an intoxicated male and during the process of arresting him, the male became combative by throwing punches at the Police. The male was subdued and incidental to arrest, Police located a folding knife on his person. A 26yr old Brandon man was arrested and lodged at BCC for Court on September 13th.

Possession of Methamphetamine:

On Wednesday night at approximately 10:58pm, Police were called to the 900 block of Rosser Avenue regarding a male and female in a bank foyer. Police located the female and found to have small amount of Methamphetamine on her person. A 19yr old woman was arrested and released to appear in Court on November 8th. The male was released and sent on his way.

Arrest Warrants Executed:

On Thursday morning at approximately 2:51am, Portage RCMP advised they had arrested a male subject with BPS outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Recognizance x3. A 19yr old Brandon man was arrested and will appear in Portage Court on September 13th.

On Wednesday evening, Virden RCMP had arrested a 42yr old Griswold, Mb man and executed two BPS Warrants of Arrest for Fail to appear for Prints, Fail to appear for Court and Operate a Motor Vehicle while Disqualified. The male was lodged and will appear in Court on September 13th.

Other Arrests:

Two people was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act to be released when sober.
