Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.



A 14-year-old female from a group home in Brandon was charged with assault Tuesday after Police received a call from an employee at the home, disclosing the incident. The employee had some minor bruising as a result but no medical attention was required. The youth female is scheduled to appear in Court in September.


Uttering Threats:

A 44-year-old female was charged with Uttering Threats after becoming involved in a verbal dispute with a female victim. The Brandon woman was released and will appear in Court in September.


Warrant Executed:

At approximately 4:45 p.m., Police conducted a person’s check in the 400 Block of 5th street and learned that the 32-year-old Virden, Manitoba man had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Fraud Under $5000. He was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court Wednesday.


Brandon Man Charged with Trafficking of Methamphetamine after Vehicle Stop:

At approximately 11:18 p.m., Police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Princess Avenue as the Officer involved recognized the driver and knew of an existing Warrant for his arrest. The arrest led to the discovery of 11 grams of Methamphetamine having a street value of approximately $2200. The 31-year-old male from Brandon was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Proceeds of Crime and 4 counts of Breach of his Court Ordered Recognizance. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court today.

One of the passengers in the vehicle, a 27-year-old also from Brandon was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Assault Police Officer, Carry a Concealed Weapon, Possess a Weapon Dangerous and Fail to Attend Court. He was lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

2 others in the vehicle were released without charges.


2 Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property:

At approximately 4:20 a.m., Police attended to the area of the 900 Block of 4th street after receiving a call of three intoxicated individuals in the area. Further information received also indicated that they had stolen a pair of work boots and a dumbbell from a nearby residence. Police located two of the suspects in the lane way. One of the suspects, a 22-year-old Brandon man, initially lied to Police about his identity and was subsequently charged with Public Mischief and Possession of Stolen Property. He was later released to appear in Court in October.

The second individual, a 26-year-old male from Brandon, was also charged with Possession of Stolen Property, lodged at the Correctional Centre to be released later with a scheduled Court date in October.


Other Arrests:

In the last 24 hours one individual, a 32-year-old Brandon man, was arrested for Breach of Peace and lodged at the Correctional Centre for causing a disturbance at a residence in the 3500 Block of Willowdale Crescent.
