MEDIA RELEASE FOR AUGUST 7TH

Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Breach of Court Orders:

  • A Brandon man was found to be in Breach of his Court Ordered Weapons Prohibition after it was discovered that a fanny pack that he was carrying contained several rounds of .22 calibre ammunition, a shotgun shell and a homemade gun. Prior to this the male was observed falling off his bicycle and the officer stopped to render assistance. Police continue to investigate the homemade gun. The 23-year-old was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in October.

 

  • Police responded to a disturbance call in the Brentwood Trailer Court and it was determined that a 39-year-old Brandon male was breaching his non-communication clause of his Probation Order. Although he left the residence prior to Police arriving he was located in the area, arrested without incident and later released to appear in Court in September.

 

  • At approximately 2:25 a.m., Police attended to a residence in the 1000 Block of 10th street for a disturbance. A male in the residence was found to be in Breach of two conditions of his Undertaking as he was to have no contact with a female that was also present and to not to consume alcohol. The 39-year-old male was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • Police attended to a residence in the 1500 Block of Louise Avenue and a male located there was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. The 24-year-old man from Brandon was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

 

  • A 28-year-old Brandon woman attended the Police Station as she was aware that there was a Warrant for her arrest. She was arrested on the strength of the Warrant for Assault Cause Bodily Harm and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

 

  • At approximately 10:10 p.m. Monday evening Police stopped a vehicle after observing it had a burnt out headlight. The male driver was found to have a Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Appear under the Family Maintenance Act. The 42-year-old man from Barrows, Manitoba was lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court Tuesday.

 

Assault:

Just after midnight on Tuesday, Police responded to the 1000 Block of Victoria Avenue for an altercation. It was determined that the male victim suffered an elbow injury after being assaulted by his girlfriend. The 55-year-old woman from Brandon was arrested at the scene and later released and is scheduled to appear in Court in September.

 

Other Arrests:

In the last 24 hours two individuals, a 30-year-old Brandon man and a 25-year-old man from Shilo, Manitoba, were arrested and lodged for Breach of Peace.
