Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Edmonton Man Charged for Personation after Lying to Police about Identity During Drug Arrest:

A 30-year-old man from Edmonton will appear in Court today on charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Personation, Public Mischief and Possess Proceeds of Crime. Police conducted a vehicle stop Wednesday morning in the 2300 Block of Rosser Avenue and the investigation revealed the male suspect was in possession of approximately 9 grams of Cocaine. The accused provided Police with identification that was later determined to be false. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre.

The passenger in the vehicle, a 51-year-old Brandon woman was also arrested for Possession of Cocaine for the purpose of Trafficking. She was later released and is scheduled to appear in Court in September.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

A 40-year-old Brandon woman was arrested at her residence for having a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. She was released and will appear in Court in August.

 

Breach of Court Order:

  • Police responded to a business in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue yesterday in response to a female on Probation not to attend that location. The 27-year-old woman was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.
  • At 6:47 p.m. Police attended to a residence in the 400 Block of 14th street and found that a 43-year-old male was at the home, contrary to his Undertaking. The Brandon man was arrested and later released to appear in Court in August.
  • AT 7:06 p.m., Police were called regarding a highly intoxicated female in the 2100 Block of McDonald Avenue. A 35-year-old Brandon woman was located and found to be bound by an Undertaking with a condition to abstain from alcohol. She was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court today.

 

Theft Under $5000:

  • Police attended to a business located in the 1500 Block of 18TH street on a report a female being caught stealing merchandise. The 22-year-old suspect was also found to have a Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend Court and Breach of Probation. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court today.

 

  • A 38-year-old Brandon man was arrested for Theft Under $5000 for a bicycle theft that occurred on May 31st. The male suspect was identified through video surveillance captured at the time. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in September.

 

Other Arrests:  

One individual was arrested for Breach of Peace and one individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act and loadged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober.
