Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Break, Enter and Theft:

Police received a call of another Break and Enter to the same property in the 3000 Block of Rosser Avenue as reported yesterday. A number of items were strewn around the yard and stolen was some more alcohol and a projector. Police continue to investigate.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • A 40-year-old Brandon man turned himself in to Police yesterday on an outstanding Warrant. He was arrested on the strength of the Warrant for Fail to Attend for Fingerprints and later released to appear in Court in August.
  • In similar fashion a 20-year-old male attended to the Police Station to turn himself in on a Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend for Fingerprints. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in August

 

Robbery with Violence / Theft of Motor Vehicle / Utter Threats:

Just before 12 p.m. on Monday afternoon Police responded to a residence after receiving a call from the female victim indicating that her ex-boyfriend had just choked her, made numerous threats and then stole her vehicle. The male suspect was not on scene when Police arrived however he was eventually located and after a brief foot pursuit was apprehended, charged and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court Tuesday. The stolen vehicle was also found abandoned in a residential area.

 

Possession of Cocaine / Consume Alcohol in a Public Place:

Police observed and intoxicated female drinking alcohol outside of a business in the zero hundred block of 10th street. She was arrested for consuming alcohol in a public place and a search conducted incident to arrest, Police located approximately 2 grams of Cocaine on her person. She was subsequently charged for Possession of Cocaine, transported to the Correctional Centre to be released when sober. The 40-year-old woman from Brandon is scheduled to appear in Court in September.

 

Breach of Court Orders:

  • At 9:49 p.m., Police attended to a business located in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue after receiving a report of an intoxicated male on the premise. A 31-year-old male from Brandon was found to be on a Recognizance Order not to consume alcohol. He was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Tuesday.
  • At 2:01 a.m. Police responded to a fight call outside of a business in the 3100 of Victoria Avenue. One of the parties involved in the alteration, a 29-year-old female from Minnedosa Manitoba, was found to be on a Recognizance Order with a curfew condition. She was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

Assault:

A 22-year-old female from Brandon was arrested last night after she assaulted her boyfriend by biting him during an argument at his residence. She was located in the area and arrested. Due to her level of intoxication she was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober and is scheduled to appear in Court Tuesday.

 

Other Arrests:

4 individuals were arrested in the last 24 hours for Breach of Peace.
