Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.


Breach of Court Orders:

  • Brandon Correctional Centre reported that an inmate had breached the no contact condition on his Probation Order. He was charged for Breach of Probation and will appear in Court Friday.
  • Police responded to a call of a highly intoxicated male causing problems at a residence in the 200 block of McDiarmid Drive and discovered that the 20-year-old male was bound by a Recognizance Order not to consume alcohol. He also had an outstanding Warrant of Arrest issued by the Winnipeg Police Service. He was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Friday.


Stolen Vehicle Recovered:

Brandon Police recovered a 2011 Toyota Camry that was reported stolen during a car jacking in Winnipeg. This same vehicle was involved in a hit and run accident on Thursday morning at 6th street and Victoria Avenue. The vehicle was eventually located in a parking lot of a business in the 900 Block of 18th street north. Police continue to investigate.


Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • A 20-year-old female turned herself in to Police believing there was a Warrant for her Arrest. The Warrant was for Fail to Attend Court. She was arrested on the strength of the Warrant and released to appear in Court in September.
  • At approximately 11:57 p.m., Police received a call of 3 kids trying car doors in the 900 Block of Rosser Avenue. The suspects were located and a 20-year-old female from Brandon was found to have 2 outstanding Warrants of Arrest for Fail to Attend Court / Fingerprints and Breach of Probation. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court Friday.
  • Police attended to a residence in the 300 Block of Louise Avenue and located a 21-year-old female from Brandon who had a Warrant of Arrest for Mischief Under $5000. She was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Friday.



Police responded to a report of a domestic assault and through the investigation it was discovered that the female received a self inflicted cut to her face as a result of a broken mirror. During the argument she slapped her boyfriend in the face. The 21-year-old Brandon woman was arrested for Assault and was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in August.


Theft Under / Breach of Probation:

Brandon Police located the 37-year-old female who was responsible for a theft of merchandise from a business located in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. The reported theft occurred on June 11th. The female suspect was also found to have breached a condition on her Probation Order as it states she is not to attend this same business. She was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Friday.


Impaired Driving:

At approximately 10:08 p.m., Police stopped a vehicle after observing it travelling at a high rate of speed. The operator of the vehicle was found to have a suspended licence, and subsequently failed the administered road side test. The male driver was transported to the Police Station where breath samples obtained exceeded the legal limit. The 21-year-old Brandon man was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mg%. He was released to attend Court later this month.


Business Break and Enter:

  • At approximately 1:34 a.m., Police responded to an alarm call from a business located in the 2200 Block of Park Avenue and found that entry to the compound as made by cutting the chain link fence. Police continue to investigate.
  • At almost the same time, Police received another alarm call, this time from a business located in the 500 Block of Grandview Street. Entry was made to the compound by cutting the lock off of the gate. This incident is still under investigation.
  • Police received a 3rd alarm, this one at approximately 4:43 a.m., to a business in the 1600 Block of 1ST street North. There were two locations on the compound fence that were compromised. One quad was determined to have been stolen, with two more receiving damage to the ignition. The investigation continues.


Other Arrests:

Three individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and two were detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act to be released when sober.
