MEDIA RELEASE FOR JULY 5TH

Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Breach of Court Orders:

  • Police received information that a male suspect was Breaching a condition of his Probation Order by contacting a named party. When located the suspect was with the named party. A 42-year-old Brandon man was arrested for Breach of Probation and released to appear in Court in August.
  • Police located a female suspect in a business in the 500 Block of 8th street known to have a Warrant of Arrest for Robbery with a Weapon and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. The 32-year-old Brandon women was arrested on the strength of the Warrant and found to be in Breach of two conditions of her Court Ordered Recognizance. She was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre for Court on Thursday.

 

Assault / Sexual Assault:

On Wednesday morning Police responded to an assault complaint at a residence in the 600 Block of 9th street, where it was disclosed that the male suspect pushed the female victim’s face into the wall and grabbed her in the chest. A 48-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Assault and Sexual Assault and later released to appear in Court in August.

 

Mischief to Property:

Brandon Police responded to a dispute between neighbours in the 800 Block of 7th street that escalated to the point that a female suspect damaged the patio furniture belonging to her neighbour. As a result a 44-year-old women from Brandon was arrested for Mischief to Property Under $5000, lodged at the Correctional Centre to be released when sober to appear in Court in August.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 2:17 a.m., Police conducted a person’s check in the 1300 Block of McTavish Avenue and found the 24-year-old male from Brandon had a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation. He was arrested on the strength of the Warrant, lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court on Thursday.

 

Other Arrests:

In the last 24hrs three individuals were detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act to be released when sober and another individual was arrested for Breach of Peace and lodged at the Correctional Centre.
