MEDIA RELEASE FOR JULY 4TH

Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • A 27-year-old female from Brandon arrested for having a Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend for Fingerprints. She was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in August.
  • A 20-year-old Brandon woman turned herself in at the Police Station for having a Warrant of Arrest for Break and Enter and Posses Property Obtained by Crime. She was arrested on the strength of the Warrant and released to appear in Court at a later date.
  • A 46-year-old man from Brandon was located at the Courthouse and found to have an outstanding DNA Warrant of Arrest. He was transported back to the Police Station where the Warrant was executed and the male was released.
  • At approximately 2:37 p.m., Police checked two individuals in the 100 Block of 10th street and both were found to have outstanding Warrants for their Arrest. A 36-year-old Brandon man was arrested on the strength of the Warrant for Theft Under $5000 x2 and Fail to Appear for Court. He was released to appear in Court in August. A 27-year-old female from Brandon had a Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000 x3 and Fail to Attend Court x2, she was lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court Wednesday.

 

Pointing a Firearm:

As a result of an ongoing investigation from an incident that occurred on May 9th, a 13-year-old youth male from Brandon was arrested for Pointing a Firearm. It is alleged that the suspect along with two others attended to a residence in the Brentwood Trailer Courts and after being refused entry, pointed a firearm at the people in the residence. The youth male was later released and is scheduled to appear in Court in August.

 

Stolen Vehicle Recovered:

On July 2nd Police received a report of a stolen 2011 White Dodge Charger. The vehicle was discovered yesterday behind a residence in the 300 Block of 2nd street and returned to the owner.

 

Assault with a Weapon:

On July 3rd Police received a complaint that a youth male from a group home located in the 300 Block of Dennis Street struck an employee with a broom handle. The 14-year-old was located later in the day and arrested for Assault with a Weapon. He was released to appear in Court in August.

 

Breach of Court Orders:

A 15-year-old youth male from a group home in Brandon was found to be in Breach of his curfew condition on his Court Orders. He was located and arrested for the Breach and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Wednesday.

 

Other Arrests:

Two individuals were detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act to be released when sober, and one individual was arrested for Breach of Peace.
