MEDIA RELEASE FOR JULY 3rd

Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

 

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime:

  • As a result of a Police investigation that commenced in the early part of June, a 57-year-old Brandon man was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime after it was discovered that he was possession of a number of items from a reported Break and Enter from October of last year. He was released and is scheduled to appear in Court in July.

 

  • At approximately 6:20 p.m., Police responded to the 700 Block of McDiarmid Drive after receiving a call from a resident in the area stating that they had located their sons bike and were currently holding the suspect. A 36-year-old man from Brandon was charged in relation to this incident and is scheduled to appear in Court in July.

 

Theft Under $5000:

A 38-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for Theft Under $5000 after he was identified as being responsible for a theft of merchandise from a business located in the 1000 Block of Victoria Avenue. He was released and will appear in Court in August.

 

Arrest Warrants Executed:

  • Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1900 Block of College Avenue. An 18-year-old man form Oak Lake, Manitoba was the driver of the vehicle and identified to have a Warrant of Arrest for Break and Enter and Fail to Attend Court. He was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre and will appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

  • At 9:27 p.m., Police conducted a person check in the 200 Block of Rosser Avenue East. A 23-year-old Brandon man was found to have a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation x2, Uttering Threats, and Breach of Undertaking. He was arrested on the strength of the Warrants and lodged at the Correctional Centre to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

  • At 10:28 p.m., Police attended to the area of 10th street and Brandon Avenue after receiving a call of a highly intoxicated female. A 28-year-old female from Birdtail Sioux, Manitoba was arrested after an existing Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation was discovered. She was lodged at the Correctional Centre and will appear in Court Tuesday.

 

  • Police responded to a disturbance in the 1000 Block of 1st street. A 37-year-old man from Sioux Valley, Manitoba was found to have a Warrant of Arrest for Assault and Fail to Attend Court. It was also determined that he was breaching two conditions of his Undertaking. He was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre to be released to appear in Court in August.

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine / Possession of Methamphetamine:

As a result of a traffic stop in the 1900 Block of College Avenue, a female passenger in the vehicle was arrested after she was found to have in her possession small plastic baggies containing Meth, as well as approximately 5 grams of Cocaine. A Search Warrant was executed at her residence and Police located a bag containing approximately 29 grams of Cocaine. The estimated street value of the Cocaine is $4500. The 36-year-old Brandon female was lodged at Correctional Centre and is scheduled to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

Theft of Motor Vehicle:

Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a Brandon resident stating that sometime between July 1st and 4 p.m. on July 2nd his white 2011 Dodge Charger with Manitoba Licence GGZ 800 was stolen from behind a residence in the 200 block of Dennis Street. Police continue to investigate.

 

Stolen Vehicle / Recovered:

It was reported to Police that sometime between 5p.m on June 29th and 6 p.m. July 2nd, someone stole a work truck belonging to a business in Brandon. The truck, a 2011 grey Ford F150 was parked in the 900 Block of 26th street but was later discovered in Regina, Saskatchewan. A tool trailer and another vehicle that were also parked at this same location appear to have been broken into as well. The Police continue to investigate.

 

Other Arrests:

A 43-year-old female from Sioux Valley was arrested for Breach of Peace after Police received a call from a residence in the 3500 Block of Willowdale Crescent indicating the female was refusing to leave and causing problems. She was lodged to prevent further issues, to be released when sober.
