Careless Storage of a Firearm

At 11:40 am, Police attended to a call of a disturbance in the 400 block of 11th St and upon attending to the residence involved and investigating the situation, Police located an improperly stored firearm within the residence. As a result a 23 year old Brandon man was arrested and charged with careless storage of a firearm. He was released for a later court date.

Break and Enter 

At 2:00 pm, a resident in the 100 block of Ashgrove Blvd reported their garage had been broken into within the last hour. Damage was done to the overhead door and stolen were two bicycles and a Ryobi electric lawnmower. This incident is still under investigation.

Assault with a Weapon 

At 11:47 am, a female called reporting she had been assaulted by her roommate. Police attended to the residence in the 300 block of 13th St but the 29-year-old Brandon man had already fled the residence. Police learned that the accused had thrown a keyboard at the victim and had physically assaulted her as well. The victim did not suffer any serious injuries from this incident. The accused returned later in the day and Police attended and arrested him and lodged him at BCC until sober and will be released for a later court date. 

Shoplifting 

As a result of an investigation from June 15th, a 43 year old Brandon man was identified through video surveillance as being the responsible party for stealing $20 worth of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. On todays date he was arrested and released for a later court date. 

Edmonton Police Service Warrant - Weapons Offences 

At approx. 9:30 pm Police were dealing with a 34-year-old Brandon man at a residence in the 300 block of Lorne Ave East. The accused was arrested on an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Edmonton Police Service. The warrant was in relation to numerous weapons related charges including Possession of a restricted weapon and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused was held at BCC for court in the morning.

Assault

At 9:20 pm, a male reported being assault by another male on Cornwallis Bay. The victim stated he was punched and kicked by the accused, a 58-year-old Brandon man. Accused was arrested and charged with assault and released for court at a later date. 

Domestic Assault 

At 10:05 pm, Police were called to a domestic situation in the 200 block of 16th St. Upon arrival Police learned that both parties had struck each other in the face and subsequently both parties were charged with assault. The 42-year-old subject from Edwin and the 53-year-old Brandon man were both charged and released for later court dates.

Stolen Bicycles and other Charges 

At 1:24 am, Police observed a male riding a bicycle in the 1700 block of Pacific Ave. When Police approached him he dropped the bike and fled on foot but was apprehended in the 1400 block of Assiniboine Ave. The 37-year-old Griswold man was charged with possession of stolen property and released for a later court date.

At 4:04 am, Police checked a male on a bicycle, later determined to be stolen, in the 200 block of 15th St. The 33-year-old man initially provided a false name to police and once his identity was confirmed he was charged with Public Mischief for providing a false name, Possession of Stolen Property. He was also arrested on his outstanding warrants and held in custody for court in the morning.

At 4:40, a 38 year old Brandon woman was checked on a bike in the 100 block of Victoria Ave and further investigation determined the bike to be stolen. The subject was arrested for possession of stolen property and released for a later court date.
