Utter Threats

As a result of an ongoing investigation, a 49-year-old Brandon male was arrested yesterday for making threats to a co-worker in May.  The accused was released from custody and will appear in court in July.

 

Assault

 On Friday evening, a 16-year-old female was arrested for assaulting three of her caregivers.  None of the victims required medical attention.  The accused was lodged at Brandon Correctional Center for court in the morning.

 

Counterfeit Money

 On Friday evening, a 51-year-old Brandon male was arrested for passing a counterfeit $100 dollar bill at a local business on May 16th.  The male was released from custody and will appear in court in July.

 

Disqualified Driver

 On Friday evening, police conducted a traffic stop on Victoria Avenue and discovered that the 42-year-old male from Waywayseecappo First Nations was prohibited from driving.  The male was arrested and released to appear in court in July.

 

Pedestrian Motor Vehicle AccidentAt 1:12 am, Saturday morning, Police were flagged down and advised that there was a male laying on the roadway near 18th and Richmond.  The subsequent investigation revealed that the male had dropped something on the roadway and when he went to retrieve it he was struck by a black truck, which then fled the scene.  The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The investigation is continuing.

 

Theft Under $5000.00

 On June 7th, Police were called to a local liquor store for a theft of liquor.  The male suspect was identified through the use of video surveillance.  On Friday evening, the 41-year-old Brandon male was located and arrested for the theft.  He was intoxicated at the time of his arrest and was lodged for release when sober.  The male will appear in court in August.

 

Impaired Driver

 At 4:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of 1st Street North.  The driver, a 19-year-old Brandon female was arrested for impaired driving and returned to the Brandon Police Service where she provided two samples of her breath which were both more than double the legal limit.  The driver was charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Over .08 and Operating a Motor Vehicle contrary to 0 BAC condition of her driver’s license.  The female was released to a sober relative and will appear in court later in June.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed

 At 3:54 am, a 38-year-old Brandon male, known to police, was observed in the 300 block of 10th Street.  The male was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  He was also found to be in breach of two conditions of his recognizance by being intoxicated and not resided where directed by the courts.  The male was lodged for court in the morning.

 

Other Arrests

 3 persons were lodged under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act and one was arrested for Breach of the Peace.  All will be released once sober and able to care for themselves.
