Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose:

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Police received a report that a boy was being chased by other children near a school on Queens Avenue. Officers located the children and learned that during the dispute one of the boys pulled out a can of “bear spray”. The 14-year-old male youth was arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He was released from Police custody and is scheduled to attend Court in June. There were no report of any injuries.

Theft Under $5000:

At approximately 2:00 p.m., Police responded to a business in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue after receiving a report that two individuals filled a shopping cart full of merchandise and left the store. Both suspects were apprehended by an employee of the business. A 24-year-old female and 22-year-old male were arrested for Theft Under $5000. Both were released to attend Court in July.

On April 30th 2018, Police received a report that a male stole merchandise from a business in the 1000 Block of Victoria Avenue. The 42-year-old male suspect was identified through store surveillance and was arrested for Theft Under $5000 on Wednesday afternoon. The man was released and is scheduled to attend Court in July.

Arrest Warrants Executed:

A 23-year-old Brandon man was arrested on Wednesday evening on an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Parole Violation. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Thursday.
