Male Stabbed Downtown Last Night

 Just prior to 11:00 PM last night a male in his mid-30’s was stabbed in the neck after an altercation in the 900 Block of Rosser Avenue.  The suspect, a 32-year old female from Brandon was arrested a short time later near the scene.  The victim was transported to BRHC for medical treatment with non-life threatening injuries.  The victim and the suspect are known to each other.  The suspect was released on a PTA for court on July 05, 2018 to be charged with assault with a weapon.

House Fire Last Night

 Just past 10:30 PM last night a residence in the 400 Block of 7th Street was discovered to have a fire in the attic.  The fire was extinguished however caused significant damage to the attic area. The residents from the apartments were evacuated.  There were no noted injuries to any residents.  The fire is non-suspicious at this time. An estimate of the damage caused is unknown at this time.

Two Garages Unlawfully Entered Yesterday

 A garage in the 1000 Block of 3rd Street was unlawfully entered just prior to 2:00 AM last night. Entry was made through a window and a vehicle inside the garage was entered as well.  A small amount of change was stolen from a vehicle in this incident.

A garage in the Parkdale Drive area was also unlawfully entered prior to 10:00 AM yesterday morning. Nothing appears to missing from the garage however a small amount of change and sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle as well.  

Other Arrests

 Three persons were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants.

Two persons were arrested for breaching their court orders.

Three persons were arrested under the intoxicated persons detention act and lodged at the Brandon Correction Centre until sober.

One person was arrested for theft after stealing a bottle of liquor from a local store in the 3400 Block of Victoria Avenue.
