Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Utter Threats, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose:

 As a result of continued investigation, Police arrested the 43-year-man involved in the Emergency Response incident that began on May 1st and carried over to May 2nd. The man barricaded himself in a residence in the 1500 Block of Louise Avenue while Police were investigating a complaint of Uttering Threats. The man threatened officers while holding a knife and also threatened to use a chainsaw. After lengthy negotiations, the uninjured man was taken into Police custody and transported to hospital. Upon release from hospital on Thursday afternoon, the man was arrested for Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.  

 Arrest Warrants Executed:

 A 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday morning for having a Warrant of Arrest for Parole Suspension. The man was lodged at the Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.  

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Police attended a residence on Delta Bay on an unrelated matter. A 31-year-old female and 55-year-old man were located in the residence and both were found to have outstanding Warrants of Arrest for Theft Under $5000. Both individuals were arrested and released to attend Court later this month.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., Police stopped a vehicle in the 1800 Block of Louise Avenue. A 36-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Assault and Fail to Attend Court. The man was arrested and released to attend Court in June.

On Thursday night, Police stopped an intoxicated female walking on Willowdale Crescent. The 46-year-old female was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation, Fail to Attend for Finger Prints and Fail to Attend Court. The female was arrested and lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

  

 Breach of Court Orders:

A 12-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday night for Breach of Recognizance. The boy left his youth care group home outside of his curfew hours and was arrested upon his return to the residence. He was lodged at the Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., an intoxicated female flagged down a patrol officer outside of a downtown drinking establishment. The female yelled at the officer to come and arrest her. The 37-year-old female was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition to abstain from consuming alcohol. The officer complied with her wish and arrested the female for Breach of Undertaking. She was lodged at the Correctional Center, to be released when sober with a Court date in June.

 Domestic Assault:

At approximately 3:50 a.m., Police responded to an apartment in the 200 Block of 15th Street for a Domestic Disturbance. Investigation revealed that an intoxicated man assaulted his girlfriend inside the apartment by pushing her. The 56-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Domestic Assault and lodged at the Correctional Center, to be released when sober with a Court date in June. The female victim did not receive any physical injuries because of the assault.
