Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Impaired Driving:

At approximately 7:40 p.m., Police stopped a vehicle speeding in the 300 Block of 1st Street. The male driver of the vehicle admitted to consuming one beer and was placed on a Road Side Screening Device, which resulted in a fail. The male was transported to the Police Service and breath samples obtained were in excess of the legal limit. The 20-year-old man was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mg%. He was released to attend Court later this month.

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At approximately 6:45 p.m., Police observed a man walking in the 900 Block of Pacific Avenue. Officers knew the man and a check revealed an outstanding Canada Wide Warrant of Arrest for Suspension of Statutory Release. The 27-year-old man was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 2:55 a.m., Officers checked a female youth walking on Cornwallis Crescent. The youth was found to have two outstanding Warrants of Arrest and was in Breach of a Recognizance and an Undertaking by failing to abide by curfew conditions. The 16-year-old female youth was arrested on the strength of the Warrants and Breach of the Court Orders. She was lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.   


On Wednesday evening, staff from a youth foster care home reported that a resident assaulted another resident and a staff member by punching them in the face. Both victims were transported to hospital and released after receiving medical treatment. The 14-year-old male youth suspect was arrested for Assault X 2 and was released to the custody of another youth care facility with a Court date in April.
