Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Possession of a Firearm, Arrest Warrants Executed, Breach of Court Order Arrests:

At approximately 2:00 a.m., a female from an apartment in the 300 Block of Louise Avenue called Police reporting that her son pointed a firearm at her. Officers attended and located the suspect as well as well as four other people inside the residence. A search of the residence recovered a sawed off .22 calibre rifle and a loaded magazine along with several machetes and knives. The 26-year-old male suspect was arrested for Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition. The male was also found to be on a Firearm Prohibition Order. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 47-year-old female located in the suite was found to be intoxicated and in Breach of an Undertaking. She was arrested and lodged at BCC and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 21-year-old female located in the suite was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. This female was released and is scheduled to attend Court in April. A 19-year-old male also located was found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation. This male was lodged at BCC and is scheduled to appear in Court on Friday. A 46-year-old intoxicated male was also located in the suite. He was found to be on a Recognizance and in Breach of several conditions of the Order. He was lodged at BCC and scheduled to appear in Court on Friday.  

Arrest Warrant Executed:

A 37-year-old female was arrested on Thursday night for having a Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Appear for Finger Prints. The female was released to attend Court in April.

Attempt Break and Enter:

On Thursday morning, an employee of an apartment complex on Willowdale Crescent reported an attempt Break and Enter to their office that occurred sometime overnight. The lock was damaged however, no entry gained. Police continue to investigate.

Possession for The Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine:

At 1:30 p.m., Police responded to the Towne Center after receiving a report from security of a suspicious male who appeared to be selling something to people. Officers located the male and found him to be in possession of several small baggies each containing Methamphetamine. The total amount seized is 2.7 grams and has a street value of approximately $50. Officers also located several pills of Hydromorphone and Tamazepam on the suspect without a prescription. The 65-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance X2. He was released to attend Court in May.  

Breach of Court Orders:

On Thursday afternoon, Police attended an apartment in the 300 Block of 34th Street for a well-being check. A male located in the suite was found to be on a Court Order with a condition to have no contact or communication with a female also located in the suite. The 28-year-old man was arrested for Breach of Court Order and lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Friday.

At approximately 9:00 p.m., Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Acadia Boulevard. An intoxicated male was located in the hallway holding a machete and officers learned the male locked himself out of his apartment. The male was found to be on a Probation Order with a condition to not possess any weapons. The 25-year-old man was arrested for Breach of Probation and lodged at the Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in April.  

Other Arrests:

One individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center for release when sober.
