Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Brandon Man Arrested for Four Business Break, Enter & Thefts:

As a result of ongoing investigations into incidents of business Break, Enter and Thefts, Police have arrested a 52-year-old man from Brandon. Forensic evidence and security video assisted investigators in identifying the suspect. The Break, Enters and Thefts occurred on November 7th 2017 at a business in the 2000 Block of Victoria Avenue, December 23rd 2017 at a business in the 600 Block of 9th Street, December 28th 2017 at a business in the 1300 Block of Princess Avenue and January 8th 2018 at a business in the 2400 Block of Victoria Avenue. In all four incidents, the suspect used an object to smash the businesses glass doors. In three of the incidents, cash was stolen from cash drawers and on one occasion, a laptop computer device was stolen.  The suspect was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to make a Court appearance on Thursday.  

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

A 13-year-old male youth was arrested on Wednesday evening for having an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Undertaking. The youth was lodged at the Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in Court on Thursday.

 

Breach of Court Order:

 A 39-year-old male inmate at the Brandon Correctional Center was arrested for Breach of Court Oder after Police were advised that the man contacted a female contrary to a condition of the Court Order. The man is scheduled to appear in Court on Thursday.

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Police responded to the hospital for a highly intoxicated man causing problems. The 24-year-old man was found to be the subject of a Probation Order with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The man was arrested for Breach of Probation and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in February.  

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Police responded to a residence on Cornell Bay for a report of a disturbance. A male and female at the residence engaged in an argument and the man was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition to not contact or communicate with the female. The 22-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Breach of Undertaking, lodged at the Correctional Center and will be released in the morning to attend Court in March.

 

 Other Arrests:

One individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and detained at the Correctional Center to be released when sober.
