Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.


On Monday afternoon, a 33-year-old male reported being Robbed of his jacket, wallet, cell phone and medication in the 1000 Block of Rosser Avenue on Sunday night between 9:45 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Two male suspects approached the victim, assaulted him and threw him to the ground before stealing the items. The victim reported suffering bruising and a concussion because of the attack. Police investigation continues.  


Male Arrested for Domestic Assault:

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Police attended a residence in the 400 Block of 11th Street for a disturbance. Investigation revealed that an intoxicated male kicked his girlfriend in the face after an argument between the two escalated. A 30-year-old male was arrested for Domestic Assault and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday. The victim did not receive any physical injuries requiring medical treatment because of the assault.


Arrest warrants Executed:

On Monday morning, an 18-year-old female from Brandon turned herself into Police for having an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Comply with a Probation Order. The female was arrested and released to attend Court in February.

At approximately 12:45 a.m., Officers observed a male and female walking in the 1100 Block of Princess Avenue and recognized both. A check of the female revealed an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000. The 32-year-old female from Brandon was arrested and released to attend Court in February.

A 41-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for having a two Warrants of Arrest for Breach of Probation and Fail to Attend Court. The man was lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.


Theft Under $5000:

On Monday afternoon, an employee of a business in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue reported that a male stole a shopping cart full of merchandise. The suspect was located in the 700 Block of 10th Street and the items recovered. A 51-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Theft under $5000; he was released to attend Court in March.


Stolen Vehicle Recovered:

On Monday afternoon, Police received a report of a vehicle abandoned outside a residence on Cherry Crescent. The vehicle, a white GMC Sierra reported stolen on Sunday morning was recovered. Police investigation continues.


Breach of Court Order:

 At approximately 12:30 a.m., Police received a call reporting two suspicious teens checking vehicles in the area of Parkdale Drive. Officers located one of the suspects who was found to be the subject of an Undertaking with a 10:00 p.m. curfew. The 13-year-old male youth was arrested for Breach of Undertaking and lodged at the Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.


 Other Arrests:

One individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act, to be released when sober.

Three individual were arrested for Breach of Peace and detained at the Correctional Center, to be released when sober.
