Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours.

Impaired Driving:

At approximately 12:00 a.m., Police stopped a vehicle at 18th Street and Rosser Avenue. The male driver of the vehicle was found to be Prohibited from Driving and displayed signs of being impaired. The male was transported to the Police Service and provided breath samples that exceeded the legal limit. The 43-year-old from Brandon was arrested for Impaired Driving, Dive Over 80 mg% and Drive While Prohibited. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court on January 8th.

On Monday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., Police stopped a vehicle in the 600 Block of Pacific Avenue. The male driver displayed signs of impairment and was transported to the Police Service where breath samples obtained were in excess of the legal limit. The 24-year-old from Brandon was arrested for Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 mg%, he was released to attend Court on January 8th.

 

Domestic Assault:

On Monday afternoon, Police attended to a disturbance at a residence in the 100 Block of 15th Street. Investigation determined that a male assaulted his girlfriend by choking her and fled the residence prior to Police arriving. Police located the male suspect at his residence and the 49-year-old man was arrested for Domestic Assault and released to attend Court in February. The female victim did not require medical attention.

 

Breach of Court Order:

During the Impaired Driving investigation that occurred on Monday morning, Police arrested a male passenger in the vehicle who was intoxicated and on a Probation Order with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The 23-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for Breach of Probation and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in February.  

 

 Other Arrests:

One individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act and lodged at the Correctional Center, to be released when sober.

Two individuals were arrested and detained for Breach of the Peace, to be released when sober.
