Brandon Police Service Media Release

 

Break and Enter:

 

At approximately 1:24 a.m., Police responded to an alarm coming from a business in the 200 Block of College Avenue. The suspect(s) fled prior to Police arrival and a door to the business was pried open. A cash box containing cash was stolen from within the business. Police do not have any suspects at this time and investigation continues.  

 

 

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

 

On Wednesday night, a 15-year-old female youth was located in a residence in the 2300 Block of Brandon Avenue. The youth was found to be in Breach of a curfew condition of an Undertaking and also found to be have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Fail to Attend For Finger Prints. The female youth was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

 

A 19-year-old female turned herself into Police for having an endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend for Finger Prints. The female was arrested and released to attend Court in November.

 

 

 

Breach of Court Orders:

 

At approximately 1:00 a.m., Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 Block of 8th Street. An intoxicated male and female were located. The female was uncooperative and combative with Police, the male was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The 30-year-old female was arrested for Breach of the Peace and the 32-year-old man was arrested for Breach of Undertaking. Both were lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center with the female to be released when sober and the male to appear in Court on Thursday.

 

At approximately 2:05 a.m., Police were called to a residence to remove two unwanted individuals who do not reside at the residence. A 13-year-old female youth and 12-year-old female youth were located and both found to be in Breach of Court Ordered Curfew conditions. Both were arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

 

 

 

Fraudulently Obtain Food:

 

On September 18th 2017, Police received a report that a female ordered $27 worth of food from a restaurant in the 300 Block of 10th Street and left without paying the bill. Police were able to identify the female and on Thursday night, the 30-year-old female was located and arrested for Fraudulently Obtaining Food. The female was released to attend Court in November.

 

 

 

Possess Weapon For a Dangerous Purpose, Animal Care Act:

 

On October 3rd 2017, Police received a report that two individuals chased wild turkeys on Aberdeen Avenue and swung golf clubs at the turkeys with intent to injure. One of the turkeys was struck with a golf club and suffered an injury to its leg. A 16-year-old male youth and a 15-year-old male youth were identified as the suspects responsible and on Wednesday, both were arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Infliction of Suffering under the Animal Care Act. Both were released to attend Court in November. The injured turkey was captured by animal control officers and released outside of the city limits.

 

 

 

 

 

Other Arrests:

 

One individual was detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act to be released when sober.

 

Two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
