Brandon Police Service Media Release

 

Domestic Assault:

At approximately 5:30 a.m., Police responded to a residence in the 400 Block of 5th Street for a disturbance. Investigation revealed that a male and female involved in a common-law relation engaged in an argument and the male struck the female in the head. The female victim sustained a cut because of the assault, however, did not require medical attention. The 36-year-old male was arrested for Assault and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court later this month. 

 

Sexual Assault, Assault, Choke to Overcome Resistance: 

On September 25th, 2017, a male inmate incarcerated at the Brandon Correctional Center reported that he was Sexually Assaulted on September 18th. Police investigation revealed that another male inmate choked the victim to a state of unconsciousness. The suspect then pulled down the pants of the victim and touched him in an inappropriate manner. On Wednesday afternoon, Police arrested the 21-year-old suspect for Sexual Assault, Assault and Choking to Overcome Resistance. The male suspect is scheduled to appear in Court on Thursday.   

 

Arrest Warrant Executed: 

At approximately 3:40 a.m., an officer observed a female known to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation enter into a taxicab in the 700 Block of 10th Street. The 30-year-old female was arrested and released to attend Court in November.

 

Breach of Court Order: 

On Wednesday afternoon, Police received notification that a male inmate at the Brandon Correctional Center contacted a female by telephone on September 15th contrary to a condition of a Probation Order. The 36-year-old male was arrested for Breach of Probation and will appear in Court on Thursday.
