Brandon Police Service Media Release
 

Domestic Assault: 

At approximately 8:34 a.m., Police attended to a disturbance at a residence in White Swan Trailer Court. Police spoke to a husband and wife who reside in the residence and Police learned that the husband assaulted the wife by pushing her. The female did not receive any physical injuries because of the assault. A 38-year-old male was arrested for Domestic Assault and released to attend Court in November.

 

On Monday morning, a female and male involved in a common-law relationship attended to the Police Service and disclosed being assaulted by the other. The 35-year-old female and 31-year-old male were both arrested for Assault and released to attend Court in October.   

 

Theft Under $5000 X2, fraud Use of Credit Card X3 

On September 24th, 2017, a male stole a wallet from a change room of a business in the 100 Block of 8th Street. The male used a credit card from the wallet and made three separate purchases from three different business. On September 29th, 2017, the same male stole a large quantity of cash from the office of a business on Marshall Lane. These incidents were recorded on video surveillance and Police were able to identify the male suspect. On October 2nd, 2017, the 39-year-old male from Dauphin was arrested for Theft Under $5000 X2 and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card X3. He was released to attend Court in November.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed: 

At 3:20 a.m., Officers patrolling the 900 Block of Aberdeen Avenue observed a male on a bicycle and attempted to stop the male. The male fled, refusing to stop but was eventually located in the 1100 Block of 6th Street. The male was found to have two unendorsed Warrants for his Arrest for Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Probation. The 23-year-old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.

 

A 17-year-old female youth was arrested on Monday afternoon for having a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Recognizance. The youth was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday. 

 

Break and Enter: 

At 5:03 a.m., Police responded to an alarm coming from a business in the 500 Block of 8th Street. The front window of the business was found smashed out and a review of the security footage showed a lone suspect enter the store and once inside steal a small safe containing cash. The suspect left prior to Police arrival and a search of the area met with negative results. Police investigation continues.

 

Other Arrests:

At 4:45 p.m., an employee of a business in the 700 Block of Victoria Avenue called Police to report that a male entered the store and is acting in an erratic manner. Police attended and located a 14-year-old male youth. The youth was highly intoxicated and belligerent towards Police. The male youth was arrested under LCGA for consuming liquor under 18 years of age and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.

 

Two individuals were detained under the Intoxicated Person Detention Act to be released when sober.

 

One individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center, to be released when sober.
