Brandon Police Service Media Release




 At approximately 10:00 p.m., an employee from a business in the 2300 Block of Rosser Avenue reported being robbed by a male with his face covered. The male entered the store carrying a bag and claimed he had a gun in the bag. The man demanded cash and left the store after the employee complied with the demand. The male suspect is described as Caucasian in appearance, 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a dark grey sweater, grey gloves, blue jeans, mask covering lower part of face and tear drop tattoo under his right eye. Officers with assistance from the K-9 unit conducted a search of the area, which met with negative results. Police investigation continues.




 Domestic Assault:


On Sunday afternoon, Police attended to a residence on Oriole Way for a Domestic Disturbance. The investigation revealed that a boyfriend and girlfriend engaged in a verbal argument that escalated to physical violence. During the argument the male pushed the female who retaliated by punching the male in the face.  A 31-year-old man and the 31-year-old female were arrested for Domestic Assault; both were released to attend Court in October. Neither received physical injuries because of the assault.


On September 9th, Police received a report of a Domestic Disturbance outside of a residence on Cornell Bay. Police attended and spoke to a male who reported that his ex-girlfriend showed up at the residence and requested to speak to him outside. When the man exited the residence, the female assaulted him by punching, scratching and biting him. The female left prior to Police attendance however was located and arrested on Sunday morning for Domestic Assault. The female was released to attend Court in October. The male victim did not receive physical injuries because of the assault.




 Arrest Warrants Executed:


At 11:46 p.m., Police attended to the 800 Block of Pacific Avenue for a report of a female passed out on the side of the street. A 25-year-old female was located in a highly intoxicated state and found to have an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Fail to attend Court. The female was also found to be in Breach of four conditions of a Recognizance. The female was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday.  


At approximately 8:00 a.m., Police received a call to assist in removing a male sleeping in an apartment and no longer wanted. Police attended and the man was found to have outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Theft Under $5000. The man was arrested and released to attend Court in October.






Other Arrests:


Four individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
