Arrest Warrant Executed:

 

At 6:00 PM on Friday evening Police were called to a business in the Corral Centre for an internal theft.  A 16 year old male employee had been caught by the staff of the business stealing money from the cash register.  Upon Police arrival the matter of the theft had been dealt with internally by the business. However, the male suspect was wanted for a 2015 residential break and enter in Brandon.  He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre.  He will appear for a bail hearing this morning.


 

Breach of Recognizance:

 

At 6:26 PM on Friday, officers were called to a building in the 1600 block of Victoria Ave E for a highly intoxicated male passed out in the hallway.  Upon arrival the officers located the 30 year old Brandon man, who was found to be the subject of a court order not to consume alcohol.  As a result, the male was arrested for breaching the order and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Centre.  He will appear in court this morning.

 

 

Possession of a Weapon Dangerous:

 

At 5:45 PM Friday evening Police stopped a 35 year old Brandon male in the 800 block of Louise Ave.  At the time, he was found to be in possession of a machete.  He was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon and breaching his probation order, as he is not to possess any weapons. He was released on a promise to appear in court on September 7th.

 

Breach of Undertaking:

 

At 4:40 a taxi driver attended to the Brandon Police Service with a highly intoxicated female in his cab who was refusing to pay.  Officers were able to assist in getting the female to agree to pay the fare however while dealing with her it was learned that she is currently bound by an order to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.  The 18 year old Winnipeg female was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court on October 10th .

 

 

Other Arrests:

 

1 person was arrested and detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

 

1 person was arrested and detained for Breach of the Peace
