Brandon Police Service Media Release


Arrest Warrant Executed:


At approximately 9:20 p.m., Police responded to 10th Street and Princess Avenue to a report of a fight. Upon arrival, a group of people began to run away and a male was apprehended. The male was found to be intoxicated and on an Undertaking with a condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. The male was also found to have outstanding Warrants for his Arrest for Mischief to Property Under $5000 and Fail to Attend Court. The 17-year-old male youth was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Wednesday.


Break and Enter:


On Tuesday morning, an employee of a business in the 800 Block of Rosser Avenue reported a Break and Enter that occurred on August 6th 2017 at approximately 2:50 a.m. Thirty cell phones were stolen from the business with each phone valued at between $100 - $150. Surveillance footage has been recovered and Police continue to investigate.



Possession of Property Obtained by Crime:


As a result of an ongoing investigation from December 12th 2016, where a search warrant was executed at a residence in the R.M. of Elton Manitoba. A 30-year-old man has been arrested for seven counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The man is currently being held at the Brandon Correctional Center stemming from other charges from this investigation. The investigation has identified that seven power tools recovered at the man`s residence were stolen from a construction company in September of 2016. The male is scheduled to appear in Court on Wednesday. The total value of the recovered stoeln property is in excess of $3000.00



Theft Under $5000:


As a result of an ongoing investigation of theft of merchandise from a business in the 1800 Block of 18th Street North that occurred on April 17th 2017, Police have arrested a 56-year-old Brandon man for Theft Under $5000. The man was identified through security surveillance and has been released to attend Court in October.



Other Arrests:


Four individuals in unrelated matters were arrested for Breach of the Peace and detained at the Brandon Correctional Center
