Brandon Police Service Media Release

 

Domestic Assault X3:

 

At 8:40 p.m., Police attended to a residence in the 100 Block of Douglas Street to a report of a male and female fighting. Upon attendance, Officers learned that a husband and wife engaged in an argument that turned physical when the male slapped his wife in the face. The male then grabbed and pulled his daughter in attempt to prevent her from calling Police. Officers further learned that earlier in the day the husband attempted to push his wife out of a stopped vehicle. The 37-year-old man was arrested for three counts of Domestic Assault and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday. The victims did not require medical treatment because of the Assaults.

 

 

Breach of Court Orders:

 

On Sunday evening, Police observed a female standing in front of a residence in the 700 Block of 10th Street and knew the female was on an Undertaking to not attend the residence. The 37-year-old female was arrested and released to attend Court in September.

 

At 8:45 a.m., Police received a call of a male passed out in front of a business in the 1000 Block of 10th Street. The male was located and found to be on a Recognizance with conditions to abstain from the consumption of alcohol and also found to be in Breach of a reside clause. The 23-year-old male was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed:

 

At 8:10 a.m., Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 400 block of 13th Street. As Police arrived, a male was observed running from the residence. The male was located and found to have two outstanding unendorsed Warrants for Fail to Appear for Finger Prints. The 23-year-old male from Brandon was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Monday.

 

 

Other Arrests:

 

On Sunday afternoon, a highly intoxicated male made repeated calls to Police and was not making any sense. A downtown business also called reporting the same intoxicated male kept coming in and out of the business causing problems with staff. After the seventh call to Police, officers attended to the residence of the male and arrested him for Breach of the Peace. The 60-year-old male from Brandon was detained at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
