Brandon Police Service Media Release


Break & Enter:


At 8:14 a.m., a homeowner from the 1000 Block of 1st Street called Police reporting that sometime overnight the detached garage was entered. A 21 speed GIANT Mountain Bike, black with white and blue writing was stolen from the garage. The Mountain bike is valued at $700. Police continue to investigate.



At 8:37 a.m., a homeowner in the 1800 Block of Princess Avenue called Police reporting that between July 9th and July 10th the detached garage was entered and a black Siemens power pressure washer and other tools were stolen. The pressure washer is valued at $550. Investigation continues. 



Breach of Court Orders:


At 11:37 a.m., a female from McLeod Drive called Police reporting that her ex-boyfriend is at her residence and trying to get in the back door. Police attended the residence and learned the ex-boyfriend was bound by a Peace Bond with a condition not to contact or communicate with the female. The 28-year-old man from Brandon was arrested and released to attend Court in September. 


At 12:35 p.m., Police attended to a residence on Cornell Bay and arrested a 35-year-old man for Breach of Recognizance. The man breached a condition of the Recognizance by residing at a residence different from the one directed by the Court Order. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.  


At 9:22 p.m., Police received a report that a female youth left her residence and is bound by a Recognizance with a curfew condition of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The 16-year-old female was located in the downtown area at 9:55 p.m. and was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Tuesday.



Possession of Cocaine for Trafficking:


At 2:50 p.m., Police attended to a disturbance at an apartment in the 1400 Block of 22nd Street. A male and female were located in the apartment and in plain view, Police observed a quantity of Cocaine, Cannabis resin, and other items indicative of drug trafficking. A consent search of the apartment was conducted which recovered a bag containing approximately 20 grams of cocaine with a street value of $2000. The 18-year-old male from the residence was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession of Cannabis resin. The man was released to attend Court in September. 



Other Arrest:


At 1:51 p.m., Police attended a disturbance at a Motel in the 1800 Block of 1st Street North. A highly intoxicated man was located and refused to check out of his room. The man was acting out of control and refused to calm down. The 20-year-old man was arrested for Breach of the Peace and detained at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.
