For the last 24 hours



Domestic Assault


At 1450 hours, police attended a domestic disturbance at a residence in the East end.  A 50-year-old female was arrested for assaulting her ex-partner and released to appear in court in August.



Theft Under


On Friday evening, a 37-year-old female from Brandon was apprehended stealing almost $90.00 worth of merchandise from a store on Victoria Avenue.  She was released to appear in court in August.





A 24-year-old Brandon male was arrested Friday evening in connection with a robbery that occurred earlier in July.  He was released from custody to appear in court in September.



Impaired Driving / Refusal


At 0040 hours, police were patrolling and observed a vehicle involved in a collision.  The driver, a 23-year-old Brandon man, exhibited signs of impairment and refused to provide a sample for the Approved Screening Device.  He was charged for refusing to provide a breath sample and released for court later in July.



Breach of Court Order


At 0100 hours, police attended a residence in the North end for a disturbance.  While investigating, members encountered an intoxicated 25-year-old female from Minnedosa who is on a court order with conditions to not attend that specific residence and to have no contact with another of the occupants in attendance.  She was arrested and lodged at BCC to appear in court this morning.



Arrest Warrant Executed


At 0200 hours, a male called Brandon Police Service requesting police at North end hotel.  The male was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for breaching a court order.  He was arrested and released for court later in July.



Mischief, Possess a weapon for a dangerous purpose


At 0400 hours, police received a report that someone had broken windows at St. Augustine’s Church and had observed a male in the area armed with a baseball bat.  The 20-year-old male from Ebb and Flow was located with the bat and admitted to damaging both the church and several vehicles in the area.  He was lodged at BCC for release in the morning.



Stolen Motorcycle


At 0515 hours, a local resident in the Green Acres area reported that his 2015 Honda CB500X motorcycle had been stolen from the backyard of his residence.  Police are continuing to investigate.



Other Arrests


    • 3 people were arrested and detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act
