Brandon Police Service Media Release

Stolen Vehicle Recovered:

At 5:10 p.m., Police received information of a suspicious vehicle abandoned in the back lane of the 500 Block between 37th and 38th Street. Officers attended and recovered the 2007 Nissan Pathfinder that was reported stolen and later involved in pursuit on July 5th. Investigation continues.

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime:

At 5:27 p.m., a male attended to the Police Service in a 2000 BMW vehicle that was reported stolen on June 25th. The male advised that he was turning himself in for the stolen vehicle. Investigation revealed that the license plates on the vehicle were also stolen which was reported to Police on June 26th. The 19-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X 2 and was released to attend Court in August.

Break and Enter:

On Wednesday, a homeowner from the 100 Block of 7th Street North reported a Break and Enter to the detached garage sometime overnight between July 2nd and July 3rd. A CCM bicycle, royal blue in color was stolen from the garage. Police continue to investigate.

At 11:09 p.m., a resident of the 400 Block of 6th Street reported that sometime during the day the detached garage was broken into and a variety of tools were stolen. The lock to the walk-in door had been cut off. Police continue to investigate.

Arrest Warrant Executed:

At 10:55 p.m., a 28-year-old man from Glenboro MB turned himself into Police for a Canada Wide Warrant of Arrest for Parole Violation. The man was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 3:45 p.m., a 35-year-old female from Brandon turned herself into Police for having a Warrant of Arrest for Breach of Probation and Mischief to Property. The female was arrested and released to attend Court in August.

A 29-year-old male from Brandon was arrested for having an Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failing to Attend Court. The male was released to attend Court in August.

Theft Under $5000:

On Wednesday afternoon, Police arrested a 38-year-old man from Brandon for Theft Under $5000 stemming from an investigation that began on June 20th where the man stole a shopping cart full of merchandise from a business in the 1000 Block of Richmond Avenue. The incident was captured on video surveillance and investigation revealed that the same male was responsible for similar thefts that occurred on June 3rd and June 12th. The man was arrested for Theft Under $5000 X3 and due to intoxication was lodged at the Brandon Correctional to be released when sober to attend Court in August.

At 3:05 p.m., Police responded to a business in the 900 Block of 18th Street North after an employee reported apprehending a female for shoplifting. The female was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and was also found to have a Warrant for her Arrest for 10 different Criminal Code charges. The female was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

A 30-year-old female from Brandon was arrested for Theft Under $5000 on Wednesday as a result of theft of merchandise from a business in the 1000 Block of Victoria Avenue that occurred on June 28th. The female was released to attend Court in August.

Breach of Court Orders:

At 8:30 p.m., Police attended to a disturbance at a residence on Clement Drive. A 16-year-old female youth was intoxicated and causing problems. The female was found to be on a Recognizance Order with a condition to abstain from alcohol. The female was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 11:23 p.m., Police conducted a vehicle stop in the 1300 Block of Lorne Avenue. The female passenger was found to be on a Recognizance Order with a condition to reside at an address in Ontario and to abide by a 9:00 p.m. curfew. The 31-year-old female from Lancaster, Ontario was arrested for Breach of Recognizance and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

On Wednesday morning, Police received notification that a male in custody at the Brandon Correctional Center breached a condition of a Court Order by contacting a female between June 19th and June 27th. The 26-year-old male was arrested and is scheduled to appear in Court on Thursday.

At 12:03 a.m., Police stopped two females in the 600 Block of Rosser Avenue. A 14-year-old female youth was found to be on a Probation Order with a 10:00 p.m. curfew and a 16-year-old female youth was found to be on an Undertaking with a condition to observe a curfew of 8:00 p.m. Both were arrested and released to attend Court later this month.
