Assault (Domestic)  

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested a 29 year old Brandon man at a south end residence after he had assaulted his girlfriend.  The victim did not require medical treatment. The accused was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the morning.

Theft under $5000

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested a 56 year old Brandon man who had previously stole merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. When confronted by store security he dropped the merchandise and fled.  The bag with the merchandise also contained identification with the suspect’s name.  He was released on a Promise to Appear in Court in August.

Theft under $5000

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested a 57 year old Brandon man and a 28 year old Brandon man after both stole merchandise from a business in the 1600 block of 18 Street. Police located both men consuming the merchandise nearby.  Both were intoxicated and were lodged and subsequently released when sober on a Promise to Appear in Court in August.  

Breach of Court Order

On Saturday evening, Brandon Police arrested a 33 year old Brandon woman in the 3500 block of Willowdale Crescent as she was on a Court Order to not consume drugs or alcohol. She was intoxicated and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released on a Promise to Appear in the AM when sober.

Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday afternoon, Selkirk RCMP arrested a 19 year old Brandon man who was wanted by Brandon Police, as he had four outstanding warrants of arrest for Breach of Court Order x 4, Theft Under $5000, and Fraud Food. He also faces numerous additional charges by the RCMP. He was lodged to appear for remand.

Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday afternoon, Selkirk RCMP arrested a 18 year old Brandon woman who was wanted by Brandon Police, as she had three outstanding warrants of arrest for Breach of Court Order, Theft Under $5000, and Fraud. She was lodged to appear for remand.

Breach of Court Order x 2, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

On Saturday evening, Brandon Police arrested a 19 year old Brandon man in the 00 block of 10 Street as he was consuming alcohol in public. He was intoxicated, and when searched by police, he was found to have a prohibited knife.  He was on two Court Orders not to possess any weapons.  He was lodged to be released when sober on a promise to appear in Court in September.

Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday afternoon, Brandon Police arrested a 31 year old Brandon man in the 1000 block of 10 Street as he had an outstanding warrant of arrest for Breach of Probation. He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the AM.

Breach of Court Order x 3

On Sunday morning, Brandon Police arrested a 24 year old Brandon woman in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue as she was on two Court Orders to not consume drugs or alcohol and to abide by a daily curfew. She was intoxicated and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released on a Promise to Appear in the AM when sober to appear in Court in July.

Breach of Court Order

On Sunday morning, Brandon Police arrested a 36 year old Brandon man in the 1000 block of 26 Street as he was on a Court Order to not consume drugs or alcohol. He was intoxicated and was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released on a Promise to Appear in the AM when sober.

Impaired Driving, Drive Over 80 mgs%  

On Sunday morning, police arrested a 42 year old Brandon man for impaired driving. Police were in the parking lot of a business in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue dealing with an unrelated matter when the accused drove up to the officer who was in a marked police car. He was stopped, and transported to Brandon Police where he provided two samples twice the legal limit.  He was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober on a Promise to Appear in Court in July.  

Arrest Warrant Executed

On Sunday morning, Brandon Police arrested a 28 year old Brandon woman at a residence in the east end of Brandon as they were there to investigate a disturbance. She was highly intoxicated and found to have an outstanding warrant of arrest for Assault held by the RCMP.  She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to be released when sober on a Promise to Appear in Court in July.

Assault (Domestic), Assault with a Weapon  

On Sunday morning, police arrested a 22 year old Brandon man at a south end residence after he had assaulted his girlfriend.  Both had been drinking and during the assault her shoved her into a window, breaking it.  When the victim’s sister intervened to try and stop the assault the accused grabbed a piece of glass and cut the sister before fleeing from the residence.  He returned three hours later and was arrested by police without incident.  Both victims suffered minor injuries as a result. The accused was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the morning.

Other Arrests

  • 1 person was arrested and detained for Breach of the Peace.
  • 2 people were arrested and detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.
