Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

At 10:14 AM, Police responded to a citizen’s complaint that they had observed the passenger of a vehicle in possession of a large bag of marihuana. The citizens were following the vehicle as it made stops around the North Hill area. The vehicle was stopped by police in the North End of the city. The investigation lead to the seizure of a small amount of marihuana and a quantity of cash. The 20-year-old male passenger was released on a Promise to Appear in Court on August 17 to face charges of Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime.           

Breach of Recognizance

At 6:59 PM, Police were called to a residence in the 400 blk of 6th St. to assist in removing an unwanted male and female. The 35-year-old Dauphin woman had been consuming alcohol in breach of a condition of her Recognizance not to consume alcohol. She was held overnight to appear in court this morning charged with Breach of Recognizance. The male had left the residence but investigation determined that he was in breach of a Section 810 Recognizance and an Undertaking by communicating with the female. Police are still looking for the male. The same couple were involved in a similar incident on June 9. 

Residential Break and Enter 

At 6:51 PM, Police received a report of a Break and Enter to a residence on Cedar Bay. A door to the residence had been forced open late Friday evening while the homeowners were away. Nothing has been reported stolen at this time. The incident is still under investigation.     

Impaired Driving/Motor Vehicle Collision with Fixed Objects  

At 12:28 AM, Police responded to a report of a single vehicle vs. fixed object collision in the 3300 blk of Victoria Ave. Investigation determined that the vehicle had entered Victoria Ave. from a parking lot in the area and made a U-turn at the intersection of Victoria Ave. and Clark Dr. to travel west when it jumped the curb and struck a tree. The vehicle continued west bound and went over the median colliding with a second tree before hitting a light standard on the South side of Victoria Ave. The operator of the vehicle was arrested and brought to BPS where he provided samples of his breath that were found to be in excess of the legal limit. The 20-year-old Brandon man was later released on a Promise to Appear in Brandon Court on June 26, charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over .08.

Breach of Undertaking

At 3:34 AM, Police conducted a pedestrian check on a male youth in the 400 blk of 12th St. The youth was found to be in breach of a curfew condition of an Officer in Charge Undertaking. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Brandon Youth Court on July 17, charge with Breach of Undertaking, and turned over to the custody of his mother.
