Special Release - 2017 Strategic Plan

June 13, 2017

Brandon Police Service Special Release

Strategic Direction - 2017

The Brandon Police Service is proud to unveil our 2017 Strategic Plan. This directional statement was formally approved by the Brandon Police Service Board on May 29th, 2017 and comes as a result of a review of our existing Strategic Plan, which had been adopted by the Board in 2014. In addition, Community input from the Citizen Engagement Survey as well as a Town Hall Meeting held in February were integral components our Strategic Direction.

Our renewed Strategic Plan has four key themes or pillars:

Goal 1: Community Safety,

Goal 2: Community Engagement and Relationships,

Goal 3: Sustainability and Diversity, and

Goal 4: Employee Wellbeing and Accountability

“We knew that 2017 would be a year of renewal in terms of governance as well as leadership with Chief Grant retiring. Through the use of the Community Engagement Survey from 2016 as well as a Town Hall meeting results in early 2017, we have developed a renewed direction that provides a well defined path for the continued success of the Brandon Police Service.”  Police Board Chair Mark Frisson

“I have been part of a number of strategic planning processes, but this one by far is based on the greatest level of community input. We have made great progress with our former strategic plans. This renewed direction will certainly assist the new Chief, Executive, all Police Service employees and Police Board members as we address community safety and wellbeing.  It will be a good roadmap, as the Brandon Police Service continues its partnerships and efforts of keeping Brandon and all our citizens confident in the Police Service.” Chief Ian Grant.

Our Vision remains “COMMUNITY FIRST” with our Mission “COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY SAFETY”.
