Brandon Police Service Media Release

Theft from Vehicles – Possession of Vehicle Break-In Instrument:

At 1:52 a.m., a resident in the 300 Block of 12th Street reported there was a male and female checking cars in the area. Officers attended and located the suspects. The male had several items that appeared to be taken from vehicles and also had screwdrivers, bolt cutters and a flashlight in his possession. The 25-year-old male from Brandon was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for theft under $5000 X 2 and Possession of Break-In Instruments. He was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in August. Investigation found that the female did not have any involvement in this incident.

Domestic Assault:

At 10:28 a.m., a female attended to the Police Service reporting people in her residence that were not supposed to be there. Police attended and found that the female hosted a drinking party the night prior that was just ending. While at the residence, an Officer witnessed the same female punch her spouse in the head. The 37-year-old female was arrested for Domestic Assault and was lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released to attend Court in July. The male victim did not sustain any physical injuries because of the assault.

Arrest Warrant Executed:

While dealing with the above incident, a 22-year-old man from Brandon was located at the party and found to have an Endorsed Warrant for his Arrest for Fail to Attend for Finger Prints. The male was arrested and released to attend Court in July.

Damage to Vehicles:

On Sunday morning, Police received six reports of damage to vehicles in the areas of Kirkaldy Drive, Pilling Drive, Cater Drive and McVicar Crescent. An Officer attended and found vehicle windows smashed and side mirrors broken off. Police continue to investigate these incidents of Mischief to Property.

Break & Enter to Garage:

On Sunday morning, a homeowner in the 700 Block of 7th Street reported that his garage was broken into overnight. The lock to the garage was broken off and a G.T. black and green bicycle was stolen. Police continue to investigate.
