Brandon Police Service Media Release

Domestic Assault:

At 3:31p.m., officers attended to a disturbance in the 200 Block of 4th Street. The female resident advised that her and her boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument and when she tried to leave, her boyfriend pushed her to the ground. The female then attempted to lock herself in a room however; the boyfriend forced open the door causing an abrasion to the victims arm. A 32-year-old man from Brandon was arrested for Domestic Assault; he was released to attend Court later this month. The female victim did not require medical attention for injuries sustained as a result of the Assault.

Residential Break & Enter:

On Sunday afternoon, a homeowner from the 100 Block of 3rd Street reported returning home after being away for a couple of days to find that the home was broken into. Police attended and learned that the backdoor to the residence was forced open and a television, video game system and four fishing rods were stolen. Police continue to investigate.

Mischief to Property:

At 1:34 p.m., Police attended to a residence in the 400 Block of 7th Street for a report of damaged windows to the house that occurred overnight. Investigation found that a 20-year-old female was responsible. The female suspect was arrested at her residence for Mischief to Property Under $5000 and released to attend court in July.

Fail to Leave Licensed Premises - LGCA:

At 3:02 p.m., Police were called to a licensed premise in the 1000 Block of 18th Street for a report of a male passed out. Employees asked the male to leave on several occasions due to the male being highly intoxicated. The male refused to leave and eventually passed out at a table. The 28-year-old man from Brandon was arrested under the LGCA and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober.

Willful Damage:

On Sunday morning, Police attended to a church in the North End of Brandon for a report of damage that occurred sometime overnight. Police found rocks all over the area and several windows on the Southside of the church broken. To date, there are no suspects in this offence and Police continue to investigate.
