Brandon Police Service Media Release

Impaired Driving:

At 2:35 a.m., Police stopped a vehicle in the 200 Block of 18th Street. The female driver of the vehicle displayed signs of being impaired and was transported to the Brandon Police Service where Breath Samples were obtained with readings in excess of the legal limit. A 30-year-old female from Ebb and Flow, MB was arrested for Impaired Driving and Driver Over 80 mg%. The female was released to attend Court later this month.

Arrest Warrants Executed:

At 11:40 a.m., Police conducted a check of an intoxicated male in the 800 Block of Pacific Avenue. The male was found to have an outstanding Warrant for his Arrest for Breach of Probation. The 44-year-old male from Sioux Valley, MB was arrested and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober with a Court date in June.

At 10:00 a.m., Police stopped a vehicle in the 100 Block of Rosser Avenue for having expired registration. The male driver was found to have an outstanding Warrant for his Arrest for Assault. The 25-year-old male from Brandon was arrested and released to attend Court in June.

Theft Under $5000:

At 1:20 p.m., staff from a business in the 900 Block of Victoria Avenue called to report that a male just stole a quantity of merchandise valued at $35.00 and fled the store. The male was identified from video surveillance footage and several hours later was located in the 900 Block of 26th Street. The 39-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in Court on Thursday.

Breach of Probation:

At 1:15 a.m., Police checked a male in the 1800 Block of Louise Avenue who appeared to be intoxicated and not wearing any shoes. The male was found to be the subject of a Probation Order with conditions to not consume alcohol and to obey a daily curfew. The 18-year-old man from Souris, MB was arrested for Breach of Probation X2 and lodged at the Brandon Correctional Center to be released when sober to attend Court in June.
