Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday morning, Winnipeg Police arrested a 35 year old Brandon man who had an outstanding warrant of arrest for Breach of Probation held by Brandon Police. He will appear in the AM for a remand hearing.

Fire

On Saturday afternoon, police attended a fence fire on Ottawa Avenue. When they arrived on scene, they extinguished the fire using fire extinguishers from the police cars and the home owner’s garden hose.  It appears that the fire started accidently from cigarette butts.

Theft

On Saturday evening, police arrested a 35 year old Brandon woman who stole cash from a business in the 1300 block of 18 Street, where she was employed. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear to appear in Court in July.  

Assault  

On Saturday evening, police arrested a 26 year old Brandon man who had assaulted his girlfriend. The victim did not require medical treatment. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking to appear in Court in June.

Residential Break, Enter & Theft

On Saturday evening, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the west end of Brandon that had occurred in the afternoon. A quantity of cash was taken. This matter is still under investigation.

Arrest Warrant Executed

On Saturday evening, Virden RCMP arrested a 41 year old Griswold woman who was wanted by Brandon Police as she had an outstanding warrant of arrest for Theft Under $5000, Fail to Attend Court and Assault Cause Bodily Harm. She was lodged at Brandon Correctional Centre to appear for remand in the morning. 

Fire

On Sunday morning, police attended a residential fire in the north end of Brandon. Brandon Fire attended and extinguished the blaze quickly. The homeowner and her sons had exited the residence prior to BFD arrival.  They were treated at Brandon Regional Health Centre for smoke inhalation.   The cause of the fire is still under investigation.  

Other Arrests

  • 1 person was arrested and detained for Breach of the Peace.
